How many times does he need to show yall that his music is entirely about longevity...

Sure Gunna beat Dawn fm first week but now lets look at the stats

Out Of Time has 400m+ streams
Is There Someone else has 700m+ streams
    TMB 400m+ streams
    Sacrifice 400m streams

Dawn Fm is already certified 2x plat.

Abel has never been about huge debut numbers, its literally ALWAYS about longevity. You'll see when this song picks up steam...

    @thegreatdivine

No, it dropped right on time at midnight on Friday.

Filtered streams are counted as the total amount of streams, minus 'bot-like' streams. These streams are what show up on the various charts on spotifycharts.com and they're what count towards official music charts around the world.

Unfiltered streams are a total of all streams, without removing 'bot-like' streams. These are the streams count you see on the official Spotify apps.

So, basically, a song with very little streams filtered means it's a song that was mostly listened to organically/without being played in ways the system can flag as being bot-like. It also means more streams that will count towards charts like Billboard.

Sorry, but monthly listeners is much more impressive stat than daily streams. Stop the cope

Bruno (him again, of course) reaching +100 million listeners with only one new song in almost 3 years and his last solo album being 8 year old is more impressive than Taylor having the most daily streams for years because she keep releasing slop every 6 months. She has dropped more songs in the past 2 years than him in 15 years, of course she gonna have more daily streams than him or Billie Eilish (also a very short discography)

This is something her stans on twitter can’t understand. They were always crying because Abel kept blocking her from #1, despite her having way more daily streams. Simple: despite her big ass discography with constantly new releases, more unique people were listening to The Weeknd (at least one his songs)

    Now she’s not even top 3 :jordanlaff3:

Lmao. his last album flopped. He's got 100m listeners off the back of all his huge hits from 15 years ago.

Like why is he trying to argue this

    I never said otherwise lol

but that's a very dumb way to measure popularity, dunno how you can possibly disagree

DS4Ever has sold more in the US than Dawn FM longterm too though...

Globally it outsold ds4ever obviously, rap is dead outside the US

this song isn't gonna do well unless bro pulls a miracle, his fans hate it

    1. Billie Eilish
    2. The Weeknd
    3. Bruno Mars
    4. Taylor Swift
    5. Lady Gaga
    6. Coldplay
    7. Sabrina Carpenter
    8. Rihanna
    9. Post Malone
    10. David Guetta
    11. Ariana Grande
    12. Drake
    13. Justin Bieber
    14. Eminem
    15. Travis Scott

Like all of these artists are superstars and there’s maybe one name on here that sticks out, why are we acting like monthly listeners means nothing?

So do you admit that 24kgoldn was bigger than Uzi/Kendrick during his mood era then?

your own list shows how dumb this s*** is lol. David Guetta being more popular than Drake/Bieber/Travis/Eminem/Kendrick? Ugh

Lady Gaga hasn't had a big album in over a decade and she's #5 lmao. Same with Coldplay

Bad Bunny isn't even on that list even though he's the 5th most streamed artist daily rn

They're much lower valuable listeners to the artist, which is entirely the point of why it's stupid.

A dude who streams Drake 200 times a month is waaaaay more likely to go to his tour than a dude who streams Hotline Bling once a month

Hence why The Weeknd has been above Taylor on monthly listeners for years, yet his tour is never even 1/4 the size of Taylor's, and his albums don't even sell 1/4 either

Same as how Drake's tour is more successful than The Weeknd's, even with The Weeknd having more monthly listeners for 5+ years

I'll never understand how some people think a large amount of people consistently streaming the catalog of an artist (which won't be accurately reflected on Spotify's Monthly Listeners numbers) isn't more valuable than a handful of new people streaming a few songs every 28 days lol.

Best case, the Monthly Listeners metric is deeply flawed. Worst case, it's absolutely useless.

What's even more insane is JID had 32m monthly listeners in March 2022, J Cole had 28m. Even with Cole's rich disocgraphy and top 3 rap fanbase it wasn't enough, he was overtaken by a dude who had a ft on an Imagine Dragons song lmao.

I just looked and JID had more than Kendrick at that time too

The Weeknd has been selling out stadiums for two straight years, by what metric are you coming to the conclusion that Drake’s tour was more successful?

    You niggas are INSANE

After Hours til Dawn is the 9th highest grossing tour of the decade, broke numerous venue records, and pulled in over $360 million dollars from 3.2 million tickets sold.

drake was literally #1 for rap for a while. All it shows is unique listeners. Someone could just listen 1 time in the 28 day period.

It's never really mattered because it's a useless stat. In 2017, The Weeknd had the #1 most monthly listeners for 5/12 months, the most of any artist. That year, he was the third most-streamed artist. In 2018, he had the #1 most monthly listeners for 8/12 months. That year, he didn't make the top 5 most-streamed artists of the year. Same happened in 2019/2020, he spent the most months as the #1 artist with the most monthly listeners, never cracked the top 3 most streamed artists of those years either.

The issue with the stat is that it's very misleading. People see it and think it means the most streamed artists on Spotify monthly when it isn't true.

  • Sep 15, 2024

Playboi Carti crashed on Spotify. The Weeknd also lost considerable streams.
