Pop artists usually don’t do high debuts unless you’re the top of the top.

Sabrina is having an extremely viral year and has caught hit after hit, so it’s no surprise that she’s selling so high right now.

The year she’s having now is the year Weeknd had in 2015, and surprise surprise, Beauty Behind the Madness sold 412K first week after Kiss Land didn’t clear 100K

ur contradicting urself? you just said The Weeknd is 5x bigger than pre AH & talking about he's huge but now you're saying pop artists only do high debuts if they're top of the top

    so why isnt he

he's almost getting outstreamed in YT by a f***ing Playboi Carti audio

Not to mention that Weeknds hits in 2015 were way more organic than Sabrinas hits this year.

I'm not saying that these Spotify numbers are fake but it's no surprise since autoplay is a thing these days and she obviously had that

    that's my point tho

that doesn't matter for artists like Travis/Drake, those types artists don't need to "push" anything, it just happens naturally. but Weeknd's fans seem to mostly be casuals that need to be told what to listen to

Yes and that’s a good thing

He’s a global popstar listened by normal people, not just a bunch of stans online

Can't really talk about that to defend The Weeknd considering he's one of the most radio reliant superstars rn, majority of BL's success was due to radio

Do we have to link the thread on here of people saying he wouldn’t be able to sell out stadiums in 2022?

    guess the op

    ktt2.com/is-the-weeknd-even-capable-of-selling-out-stadiums-32509574

By top of the top I mean a Taylor level figure. He’s big but not that big.

And he’s certainly not gonna be having a more viral music video than someone who has been on fire this year, niggas don’t really watch music vids like that anymore man

Who the f*** is talking about radio right now? You're moving your goalposts every single time, thats why nobody likes you really

BL's success was also because of streaming lol, you know that this song is the most streamed song of all time and it was the first song that hit 3 billion streams on Spotify? With no strong autoplay at all

It's also still getting around 2 million streams every day and it will outlive all of the 3 hits from Sabrina. He's a global popstar and one day you will realize that the market is bigger than just the US and even in the US he's very very popular anyway lol

You're trying to downplay Sabrina's success by talking about autoplay, whilst ignoring the fact The Weeknd's biggest hit's success is from suspicious s*** too (radio). This isn't moving the goalposts lmao, it's me showing you that you're a biased dumbass.

And no. Life is Good and The Box destroyed BL in streams in 2020. All of its Billboard records are a result of radio payola.

He keeps forgetting that 2016 was the start of the streaming era and 2015 still heavily relied on radio

The reason why Views sold so much was because it pretty much dropped pre-streaming era lol

I hate when niggas have these popularity discussions and then limit the conversation to the US. I don’t get how some artists get penalized for being popular on a global stage

My nigga, ALL of the smash hits pre-streaming relied on radio, why are you singling out Blinding Lights?

Also it’s one of the most streamed songs of all time on top of it

I have no idea why you keep bringing up pre-streaming lol, I'm talking about post streaming. I'm saying The Weeknd as a superstar is way more reliant on radio for popularity than most other superstars, not sure why you're crying about that, it's a fact lol

Blinding Lights has 3 billion more streams than Life is Good and The Box on Spotify

If you combine Life is Good and The Box’s streams, Blinding Lights still has more

I'm not downplaying anything, it's just a fact. Nobody is listening to Please Please Please outside, the only song that was really big was Espresso and even that song came heavily on autoplay. We have more than enough proof of this. Taste just went off because of the video, the label did a good work for her this era

It's good for her anyways. I hope she's grateful because her next era wont be as big as this era.

Also you need to shut up, you just stan anybody who is doing good numbers. You literally had Morgan Wallen as your avi for weeks until you changed it to Sabrina. You don't care about her, you only care about her numbers
