I was thinking about this scenario earlier...Spotify, which ain't even an American company could easily face real competition from let's say Apple Music, YouTube Music or even some brand new platform in the near future...

Spotify’s streaming milestones won’t mean anything if Spotify goes down. Spotify could literally fall off in the next few years and when it does who’s going to be talking about Drake’s 100 billion streams? LOL In the long run it just doesn’t matter.

Picture this: Apple Music blows up, runs the game and boots Spotify outta the US market. All those Spotify records and numbers? Gone. Streams would restart on Apple Music (clean slate) and some new artist, bigger than Drake or Kendrick (bigger in that moment) could slide in and take all the records.

Next thing you know, they the one everyone is streaming and Drake’s not even in the convo no more. It’s not even far fetched cause Spotify ain't based in the US and we’ve seen this b4 with Myspace getting pushed out.

I think stuff like RIAA’s gold and platinum plaques are way more important than Spotify streams. The BB charts, Grammys and other awards hold more weight as well even tho I personally don’t gaf.
