This is why No Pressure did the numbers it did (everyone except Drake used bundles to boost their numbers from 2018-2020). It wasn't because it was his "final" album:

Logic lands his fifth No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart as No Pressure arrives in the summit on the list dated Aug. 8. The LP, which the rapper has said is his final album, starts with 221,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending July 30, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

Of that figure, 172,000 units derive in album sales (supported by a wide offering of merchandise/album bundles), 1,000 are in track-equivalent album units, while the remaining 48,000 come from streaming-equivalent album units, equaling 65.16 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs. The starting sum marks his second-best week for an album, behind only the 248,000-unit entrance of Everybody in 2017.

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind only did 24K in pure sales with those same bundle rules a year earlier idiot

Logic’s Confessions of a Dangerous Mind is expected to debut at No. 1 of the Billboard 200. According to HITS Daily Double, the Maryland rapper’s latest album will rake in 75,000 to 85,000 in total activity, with 15,000 to 20,000 from pure album sales. The album’s merchandise bundle sales could additionally increase those numbers, landing at an estimated six-figure range.

Exactly. Yet people on here will tell you Logic can do 170k of those units yet Drake can't do 70k lmao.

Absolutely NOBODY said Drake can’t clear 70K with physicals

We said they wouldn’t make up the bulk of his sales like Travis can pull off because he doesn’t have a fanbase that cares to buy his music rather than stream it

Who the f*** is hating on DBR selling 200k? You're making s*** up.

And yes. Listening to an album for 75 hours should carry more weight than spending $5 on one. Next? There's a reason first week album sales have decreased by a huge amount, and it's all because streaming is undervalued

Streaming is not undervalued, it’s over exaggerated. It’s the most passive form of support. Pure sales will always weigh more and matter more than streaming numbers.

The reason the music industry is in the dirt right now is BECAUSE of streaming

Ehh physical album sales have been proven to be faked many times over, you don't know what you're talking about unfortunately

And there has been streaming bot farms and labels paying for streaming as well so what are we really talking about

That s*** sold like 34k so thats a lie

He has been virtually nonexistent in the music world since 2018 so that doesn’t surprise me

can't believe people in here are trying to pretend Trav is known for merch/seen as a fashion icon lol

57m followers & only 75k merch sales. that's 0.13% of his audience that bought a tee from a so called "fashion trendsetter/icon"

You’re admitting that only 75K of the 190K pure sales was through merch/physicals, meaning the other 115K was direct digital downloads, yet you’re still in here b****ing about bundles

    Opinions over statistics of course

    Circus Maximus
    686k tickets, $95m revenue

    It's All A Blur
    830k tickets
    $215m revenue

All this means is that Drake price gouges his fans

Trav was having issues selling out arenas, so he had to decrease the ticket prices a few days before a few of the shows

Travis’s tickets did not start out as high as Drake’s did.

ah we r back to pretending Travis can sell a lot of bundles/digitalalbums but artists like Drake can't

he cant when it comes to merch, drake fans are different fans. Not all demographic is copy and paste. All of his s*** flopped.

Drake is bigger than Kendrick but none of his albums will outsell GKMC in vinyls no matter how much he pushes because that's kendrick's strength and his fanbase appreciates that more than Drake's does.

Each artist has their strength and weaknesses. No one saying Travis fashion is good but like you said, his fanbase cares about hoodie bs.

I went to the last Kendrick/Drake/Travis tour and the merch lines for Travis were by far the longest from these 3

    It's All a Blur Tour:
Tour by Drake, 21 Savage & J. Cole

    Circus Maximus Tour:
    Tour by Travis Scott

Not exactly a fair comparison. What did So Far Gone and Care Package do? Those would be good comparisons.

If it's over exaggerated, why is everyones first week numbers down so much compared to 10+ years ago? How does that make any logical sense at all?

There's literally less than 10 total artists that sold 200k+ streaming units with their last album. In hiphop alone there were like 20 albums that sold over 200k in just 2004 lol.

surely you don't think 21 was the reason Drake's tour doubled Travis's numbers? (the guy who's literally known as the #1 performer in rap)

This guy could barely even sell half his tickets to his own tour in 3 months lol

It isn't a fair comparison because one is a solo tour and one is co-headlined, doesn't matter who else is on it.

Besides, like i said both artists are filling the same venues at the same capacity so it doesn't really matter. You've been making up hypotheticals about how much Drake can sell if he included merch or whatever, meanwhile the guy couldn't even bother to print physicals for his fans. Hell the 100Gigs s*** didn't even have a cover art, and FATD artwork looks like a toddler drew it. Travis continuously puts out projects his fans are heavily into and the numbers prove that.

How doesn't it matter when the artist is getting double the money for each person at the show? Lol that's insane. Trav would charge Drake numbers if he could, it's like you're trying to pretend he's being charitable charging lower prices to help his fans lol

What if an artist was charging $20 per ticket? would you still say "it doesn't matter" and it's the same as an artist charging $200? Crazy

I'd like Drake to do more outside of just the music however it's pretty difficult for a Drake fan to complain lmao, no other mainstream fanbase gets fed as much as Drake fans, Taylor was feeding her fans more for a bit but it looks like she's slowed down by a lot.

Also tbh - back on topic but Utopia wasn't really what his fans wanted, they wanted more Sicko Mode type s***, which the album lacked - hence why the album did worse than ASTROWORLD long term

So spending more for a ticket means he has more fans... but last page you just said streaming (which costs $10 a month for unlimited music) should carry more weight than buying a $10 cd or $40 vinyl

    The logic isn't adding up

1 person streaming a 15 track album front to back once shouldn't carry more weight than buying a $10 cd obviously

but 1500 streams = 1 album sale is dumb as f***, it should be more like 700-800, hence why first week sales are so trash now

Yeah, the general population has such an incredibly short attention span with those long hiatuses. Same reason Chance will go triple dustmite when he comes back, even if the music is excellent
