I’m responding to the person using the logic of “sales = quality”.
THEY said that.
And they claimed that PF2 sold well because it’s a great album, but FATD didn’t because it’s s***.
So then I used their own logic to ask them why PF2 is not currently in the Top 20 if it sold so well because people loved it.
This is like common sense debating
a successful album or a flop album is relative to the artist which is what they are saying.
You’re contradicting yourself.
You said For All the Dogs was s*** and didn’t sell well because people didn’t like it.
You said Pink Friday 2 sold well because people loved it.
If that’s the case, how is For All the Dogs still within the Top 10 on Billboard five months after release, and Pink Friday isn’t even in the Top 20 even though it released only three months ago?
They said it "underperformed for drake"
I would still say the kanye songs are hits. Just not mega hits.
Yea they were sleeper/streaming hits, Ye got a lot of those
a successful album or a flop album is relative to the artist which is what they are saying.
So an album that’s out of the Top 20 on Billboard three months post release is successful? Compared to an album that’s a “flop” even though it’s still one of the highest selling albums in the country five months post-release? Do y’all hear yourselves?

You can't be this ed
I'm comparing the albums performance by the INDIVIDUAL artist potential.
They said it "underperformed for drake"
Do y’all only care about first week numbers? Does longevity mean nothing?

we are talking longevity. stop being dense.

Nicki Minaj, the biggest female rapper of all-time, shouldn’t be held to a high standard?
"RELATIVE TO THE ARTIST"
You’re saying that like Nicki Minaj is some B-tier artist
we are talking longevity. stop being dense.
Okay so then by every conceivable metric, For All the Dogs has been extremely successful and Pink Friday has been relatively forgotten about

again relative to the artist
again relative to the artist
Is Nicki Minaj not one of the most successful and popular rappers of all time
You’re saying that like Nicki Minaj is some B-tier artist
I dont think anyone expected nicki to do drake and travis numbers overall

I never said that. But if the album supposedly sold well because people loved it, shouldn’t it still be performing well three months later?
Usher’s album did 91k, P!nk’s album last year did 74k…
So yeah, Justin doing around this is not really unthinkable
Nicki Minaj, the biggest female rapper of all-time, shouldn’t be held to a high standard?
Nicki is the biggest female rapper, but she could never be the biggest rapper alive.
Just being a female she's missing out on like 30% of rap listeners
I never said that. But if the album supposedly sold well because people loved it, shouldn’t it still be performing well three months later?
It is performing well relative to a lot of albums. So I dont see your point.

It’s currently selling less than Take Care
It’s currently selling less than Take Care
Okay? So is almost every rap album that came out after it.

Selling less than Tate McRae’s album too, which released on the same day

Okay? What point are you trying to make?
Okay? What point are you trying to make?
That, if the logic is people loved the album so that’s why it sold well, it would be selling a lot better than it currently is. It’s dropping fast week after week
