Some of them make music that’s too niche or too non-accessible to truly crossover and be a staple in the mainstream world (21, Yeat, Sexyy Red, etc.). But when added to a palatable Drake record, it works, and brings their fans to his already massive audience

So their music is to niche to crossover by themselves but yet somehow when they are featured on songs with the biggest hitmaker of the past 15 years, it becomes a hit but NOT because of the person who has been the most consistent hitmaker of thr last 15 years but because of the acts whose music is to niche to crossover in the first place?

    You truly are stupid.

How doesn't he have the juice anymore when he has scored more hits this decade than anyone else?

Relative to what he used to be, not relative to other rappers

His biggest songs since 2018 are the ones with features on them

And he is still the biggest name on all those songs, so what's your point? You're trying to act like Drake forgot how to make hits since 2018 and you couldn't sound more stupid. Those songs are only hits because of him. You know that but you just want to continue being an idiot with these replies so I'll leave you to do that.

Maybe niche is the wrong word then. But a song like IDGAF is not doing the traction it did without Drake’s name attached to it, but Drake’s efforts on the song are not what makes it a hit. Does that make sense?

Another example is a song like FE!N. That would’ve never became a hit if it was a solo Carti song, even though Carti’s part is a big reason why it’s a hit. But Travis’s name is the platform for a song to reach a larger audience

No, they didn't. They were all chart/radio hits that have sold millions of units in the US.

Kanye gets his first hit since Obama's first presidential term and now his fans won't shut up. Yikes lmao.

Wait why are we pretending like FSMH wasn’t a hit?

Not just you, but like everyone itt is talking about Kanye’s first hit in a decade but idk if that’s true lol FSMH was massive

He has spent the most weeks in the top 10 this decade but he doesn't have the juice anymore because his hits don't stick like they used to. Doesn't that only highlight how established of a hitmaker he is that he is still scoring hits and still spending more time in the top 10 than any other rapper regardless of his hits not sticking on the charts like they used to?

20 week chart hits since 2020:

    Collab:

    LNCL
    Jimmy Cooks
    Life is Good
    Knife Talk
    Spin Bout U
    Rich Flex
    Wants and Needs
    Way 2 Sexy
    Girls Want Girls
    IDGAF
    FPS
    Rich Baby Daddy

Solo: (none went beyond 20 weeks on the chart)

    Toosie Slide
    Search & Rescue
    What’s Next

let me know if I missed any. Also No Heart was a hit

This is such an arbitrary cut off.

search and rescue and toosie slide went exactly 20 weeks because they went recurrent...

You were just talking about kanye having no radio but not realizing radio is what helps keep songs on the charts especially after 20 weeks.

Are you on Drake's payroll? It disproves it because he hasn't had a true solo hit this decade.

So a hit has to last 21 or more weeks on the hot 100?

FSMH made Metro’s tag a household known thing overnight and it’s one of the longest lasting rap hits from last decade for Gen Z idk what this thread is chatting about

S*** is a legit classic hit

The part of the song that went viral was Drake's part of the song. Ditto for Rich Flex. So what the hell are you saying?

Do you know how silly you sound trying to erase Drake from the success of HIS OWN SONGS but you're crediting artists who only have a hit that huge BECAUSE of Drake as the reason why those songs were hits in the first place?

Always loved the little fact about Kanye requesting the tag in the song while he was literally at MSG

    ≠ no solo hits

    also this is disingenuous.

Are we going to act like rick ross and similar artists being the feature is why they blew up and not because drake decided to push those songs as the singles...

It wasn't a chart/radio hit. It peaked at #37 on the Hot 100. It's garnered streams as time has passed so it'll end up moving tons of units but it wasn't a chart hit during its run.

No solo hits. In the time period since Drake's last true solo smash, which I guess would be In My Feelings, we've seen Super Gremlin, IJWR, The Box. These are facts, do what you want with this information.

he has a big fanbase and people checking for his releases, but the songs are not sticking with the gp, I’m sorry

Is this sarcasm? I really hope so.

So charting for 20 weeks and going recurrent = not a hit but 21 weeks is a hit?

Every song with Rick Ross that has reached the top 10 features a Drake appearance. I guess Rick Ross gave Drake those top 10 hits.

I don't need to do s*** with that information because Drake is still scoring hits till this day and he has the most career hits of any rapper. He doesn't have to prove s*** to anyone. Go and cry about it lmao.
