they’re gonna do these gymnastics because Aubrey “Michael Jackson” Graham dropped a surprise album and pushed 200k, while Kanye essentially got deplatformed, put out a single most people didn’t even like + 2 struggle ass listening parties and pushed 150k while missing a day of tracking and being pulled off of streaming

It had a s*** load of songs with features from the biggest names in mainstream rap and was his first non-Gospel project in 3 years. It was always gonna do numbers and it did.

Thinking his follow-up Donda wouldn't do at least one-third of what Donda did is just being ignorant about how numbers work lol.

Donda was not selling 300k without the rollout it had stop. Those listening party’s were live-streamed like sports events. Vultures did not have even a fraction of that hype.

A few established musicians can get away with being controversial because they're too established to fail. Taylor Swift can come out as a Nazi right now and she'll still do numbers because her fans will support her regardless. Social media has been mindlessly hating on Drake like crazy since 2016 and that's done nothing to slow down his success.

Certain people are just too established to be "removed." And even those who aren't as established can't be successfully cancelled.

Sabrina Claudio and Daniel Caesar got "cancelled" online years ago. Since then, Sabrina Claudio has gone on two sold out tours, written songs for Beyoncè with tons of other songs she's written for other artists yet to drop and is more successful than she's ever been. Daniel Caesar just went on a sold out ARENA tour. Something even more popular R&B niggas can't do. Miss me with that "cancelled" s***, man.

so you completely missed the single, the new body drama, the drama with distribution, all of Ty$'s social media posts, all of the pics of them in the studio, all of the instagram accounts with millions of followers posting updates on it?

i'm very casual w/ music now and I literally saw at least 20 updates on this album before it even came out. It's crazy to me if you saw nothing until the superbowl
