Sav going 131k SEA is amazing, especially with the length of the album and no drake feature. Don’t know many artists, let alone rappers, that can do that.

Also Impressed by Kalis numbers, always does well selling physicals and the quality of her last 4 projects have been great

    "no drake feature"

People are TIRED of the trap era. These rappers aren't lyricists, and they also can't even make party/club hits anymore. The production be monotone on every song too.

Who wants to hear them talk about the same 5 lines on the 80th consecutive song with slightly different beats?

21 is monotone asf and it is what it is. There is no new chapter for him as an artist or any further evolution left.

there wasn’t much evolution anyway. i feel like his persona went from “issa knife” to “im actually british”. regardless tho how many people can pretty much make a song with drake, cole, or any of the huge atlanta producers at any time. he had that song with tyler and pharrell too who are huge. idk i feel like 21 doesn’t give you a reason to be your favorite rapper he’s just solid

According to HDD, he did 131k total. SEA units were about 125k.

Oh dang I didn’t see the updated estimate but either way still great

Kind of the least I expected him to do considering all factors. Been super visible with big features , drake collab album, massive drake tour and it’s been a long wait since his last album. Savage mode 2 did more than this too

Not bad numbers but not great

His last album was 171k so it does feel like a step back and you can tell the rollout could've been better. Definitely feels like an album that no one will remember after a couple weeks as well

I think ppl really undermine just how much Drake distanced himself from being a topic on white America’s mind after #Dramahovmeekgate in 2015. Hiphop fans overrate it as an underhanded “Drake is for white people” thing but Drake is despised by white people this day and age ESPECIALLY white women.

The only white Americans that really love Drake in 2024 are those that are already fully into this s*** or just listen to playlists. In My Feelings/Sicko Mode was the very last hoorah for all that white america loves Drake stuff

    Yeah....no.

There's not a single rapper with more White fans than Drake in North America. Maybe Eminem if you factor in the 40+ crowd or Middle America but Drake wouldn't be as successful as he is without White support. Literally impossible.

Saying White women "hate" Drake in particular is just hilariously wrong lol. Half the White b****es 35 and under have him as a top 10 listened artist on Spotify. And many can be found on video in the "It's All A Blur" shows which is currently the highest grossing rap tour. Many White dudes in frats or Millennials who grew up on the "Blog Era" f*** with Drake too.

Drake has moved away from straight pop songs but he still makes catchier music than much of the rap game which still makes him more mainstream friendly or White friendly.

Hell, even the media's trying to market Jack Harlow as the "new Drake" to tap into the same demographics that the average rapper struggles to tap into.

Eminem definitely has more white fans. Theres also a lot that only listen to em and his affiliates.

But Drake probably has similar amount of white listeners in US that most relevant black male rappers have tbh so kendrick cole lil baby future etc. Drake just gets more repeat listeners imo.

I would say he probably has lower percentage of white listeners than Travis Carti juice xxx.

True. Eminem has White folks in a chokehold lol, including some of Gen Z who got exposed to "Without Me" on Tik Tok.

But nah....Drake definitely has more mass appeal to Whites compared to Kendrick, Cole, Lil Baby, Future, etc.

I think you're mistaking percentage with total numbers even though I was talking on the latter. Someone like Carti, NF, and Logic will clearly have a higher % of White fans on average.

But, in total numbers, no rapper barring Eminem has as much White fans as Drake.

I would say this is true in Views maybe and Scorpion era But right now idk tbh. I feel like if you playing Drake you probably listen to other rappers as well. Like he not really making hotline bling one dance passionfruit type music anymore to where he would reach those other listeners.

I'm not saying Drake appeals to a lot of metalheads or anything like that.

But he appeals to a lot of White casuals, women, frat boys, and Millennials/older Gen Z who experienced his prime.

Even today, he has more crossover appeal with Whites than most rappers despite having less pop songs than before. Even Jack Harlow who's fully White and marketed as the "new Drake" hasn't been able to do Thank Me Later numbers yet.

Also, HNVM was heavily popular with Whites and lacked appeal to "the streets" compared to many other Drake albums. Hell, Addison Rae was one of the first people on social media who defended it from the hate it received from "Black Twitter." Go figure.
