I still think it’s more so Kendrick being gone for 5 years than the albums quality s what factored into this

No one can take 5 years off without losing mainstream appeal now, not even Drake. Even 2 years off is very risky as seen by many artists. In 3 weeks we'll see this with Post Malone's album too
