UMG doesn’t even own his new music. They just have distribution rights. No label is paying $500 million for music they don’t even own. Again, he likely got paid a much smaller portion of that (which is pretty much confirmed given his networth and reported earnings has never gained anywhere near $500 million).

What you are referring to is a clickbait number thrown probably just saying the “estimated worth” of the deal for everyone involved when all is said and done. The deal was pretty much guaranteed to bring in plenty of money and profit for all people involved.
