They all had unrealistic expectations. On one hand, it was understandable because DAMN was a monster album commercially and people weren't exactly wrong to expect his follow-up album to perform just as well but I knew that wouldn't be happening and I knew the narrative would be "Kendrick was meant to do 1M or over 600k but didn't, he flopped." That's why I made the thread, especially after seeing how people tried to pass off CLB did over 600k as a flop for Drake.

Now they're scramming looking for excuses to make about Bad Bunny's follow-up to his blockbuster album (which was the biggest album in the US last year) possibly debuting with less than 200k units despite having 22 songs, 2 previously released singles and basically being a return to the sound he started out his mainstream career with.
It never fails. They talk s*** about Drake's numbers, some time passes and then they see just how hard it is for other artists (even some they regard as being as big as or bigger than Drake) to put up those same numbers lol.

It's telling when everyone in here pearl clutching for the past week about Drake possibly "flopping" weren't the Drake stans but instead his biggest critics on ktt.
That's why the only people who aren't confused by his success are his stans. FATD streamed more than Her Loss and it sold less but they knew to expect that beforehand
What Kendrick stans didn't understand is that DAMN came out when Billboard embraced streaming and pure sales were still hanging on to it's last legs. MMABS didn't have that luxury as well as Kendrick's hiatus hurting and not helping him, they thought he was Frank Ocean when he's simply not and that Blonde hype can't be recreated

I was literally telling people to temper expectations and they said he would reach near 700K.
