There's one artist that, in my opinion, is the most successful of this century in general (singles, streams, albums, tours)

But yall are sick of me talking about him so 🤷🏻‍♂️

Stannery and bias aside, let's look at these numbers a***ytically

Bruno Mars' certifications in the US - a breakdown.

    Albums

    Doo-Wops & Hooligans: 7x platinum
    Unorthodox Jukebox: 6x platinum
    24k Magic: 3x platinum
An Evening With Silk Sonic: Platinum

    Songs

Just The Way You Are: Diamond 💎
When I Was Your Man: Diamond 💎
Locked Out Of Heaven: Diamond 💎
    That's What I Like: Diamond 💎
    Grenade: Diamond 💎
    The Lazy Song: 7x platinum
    It Will Rain: 5x platinum
24k Magic: 5x platinum (eligible for 9x platinum)
    Treasure: 5x platinum
    Marry You: 4x platinum
    Finesse: 4x platinum
    Count On Me: 3x platinum
Talking To The Moon: 2x platinum
Versace On The Floor: 2x platinum
Leave The Door Open: 2x platinum (eligible for 6x platinum)
Smoking Out The Window: 2x platinum
    Runaway Baby: Platinum
    Young Girls: Platinum
    Gorilla: Platinum
    Liquor Store Blues: Gold
    The Other Side: Gold
    Chunky: Gold

    Features

Uptown Funk (with Mark Ronson): Diamond 💎
Young, Wild & Free (with Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa): 6x platinum
Wake Up In The Sky (with Gucci Mane & Kodak Black): 6x platinum
Billionaire (with Travie McCoy): 4x platinum
Mirror (with Lil Wayne): 4x platinum
Please Me (with Cardi B): 3x platinum
Nothin' On You (with B.o.B): 3x platinum
Lighters (with Bad Meets Evil): 2x platinum

This is over half his entire discography, which is about 3 hours long.

All his singles in the US:

    Nothin' On You: #1
    Billionaire: #4
Just The Way You Are: #1
    Grenade: #1
    The Lazy Song: #4
    Lighters: #4
    Mirror: #16
    It Will Rain: #3
    Young, Wild and Free: #7
    Locked Out Of Heaven: #1
When I Was Your Man: #1
    Treasure: #5
    Gorilla: #22
    Uptown Funk: #1
    24k Magic: #4
    That's What I Like: #1
    Versace On The Floor: #33
    Finesse: #3
Wake Up In The Sky: #11
    Please Me: #3
    Leave The Door Open: #1
    Skate: #14
    Smokin' out the Window: #5
    After Last Night: #68

70% of his singles peaked inside the top 5.

6 diamond songs in the US.

In about 2 years, his debut album will be certified diamond.

It has been charting for over 12 years

I believe his second album will be certified diamond as well until the end of the decade.

The 24k Magic World Tour was one of the 10 biggest tours of all time when it ended in 2018 (currently in the top 20). His next tour will be bigger, probably only stadiums.

He was 3rd at the AOTD list behind Drake and Taylor. However, his catalogue is way smaller. His last album in the 2010s, with 9 songs, was released in 2016.
And his music keeps being streamed daily with big numbers. Locked Out of Heaven, When I Was Your Man, That's What I Like and Just The Way You Are are always charting. With the rest of his catalogue also doing big numbers.

But he barely drops music which hurts him when it comes to certain stats (like Hot 100 entries) and he's more lowkey and also kinda ignored in the US

He releases too little. He also seems to have randomly given up on his music career too early on.

He released ONE album the past 7 years, and it was a collab album with 9 songs (so basically he did 4.5 songs the last 7 years)

    That’s the Global 200 Year-End Chart

The context is important because that chart EXCLUDES US sales, the IFPI INCLUDES US sales.

The argument is that Weeknd is bigger everywhere else in the world than Drake besides North America.

Drake still ranks higher than him on the IFPI Chart because he’s that much bigger than everybody else in North America

So all of a sudden America isn't included in Global sales. Cool

The real question is what will Bad Bunny’s first week numbers look like?

I think he’ll clear at least 325K. Anything over 400K would be a major W for him
