20 million less Spotify streams than Utopia on Day 1. Yeah, 6 less hours of tracking but also 4 more tracks 🫢

no kanye beef to hype up this album, also the delay took a lot of the wind out of his sails.

Only 2 hours so a lot of people waited until 2am
I’m sure someone has the actual data but I would think that the hours of 2-6am EST are probably the times music is streamed the least in the US. Missing out on those hours doesn’t seem like it should make a massive dent. Maybe you can add 10M (being generous) for the hours of 12-2 EST.

You’re right in terms of US numbers, but FatD almost matched Utopia’s US numbers. FatD had 58 million U.S., and if I recall Utopia was around 60 million.
But most other places in the world, it was middle of the day. So those countries only got 5-6 hours of streaming that counted for the day instead of 12.

Right but FATD has 4 more songs

Fair point! It will be interesting to see how the week plays out.
I’m expecting FatD to do 100 million+ on its second day on Spotify, which will bring its weekly number equal to Utopia’s. Then it’s about longevity after that.
Then there are the Apple Music numbers that we know nothing about.
Ultimately, first week sales will tell us what we need to know. Drake isn’t doing physicals, so theoretically Utopia should easily outsell this album.
