He just doesn't care about pushing his music as hard and is more comfortable leaving it to his fans/the general public to decide what stands out. He's always moved that way and is too set in his ways to change now but because Travis uses beat-switches, synths and hollow vocal changes on all his albums, he's an artistic visionary who doesn't care about scoring hits/numbers

That's a conclusion you're arriving at all on your own. Utopia isn't too far of a departure from what Travis usually does. You're acting like Astroworld was filled with bubblegum pop records or something. Sicko Mode being such a hit was so notable BECAUSE it wasn't structured the way most hits are so Travis has always made albums like this. Doesn't mean he never cared about not being successful/scoring hits. He's just not as good at crafting hits as some other people so he sticks to what he knows in the hopes that something cuts through and every now and then, it does.

Utopia has at least as many extremely accessible tracks as this. The album has Drake, Carti, Beyonce, 21 Savage, Swae Lee/Weeknd, Thug, Bad Bunny/Weeknd, Future/SZA, and 21 again for God's sake

There are enough songs on Utopia that are accessible to anyone who has listened to the previous 3 Travis albums so the songs not sticking isn't because it's not accessible. The general public just isn't f***ing with it as much. Maybe that changes later, maybe it doesn't but right now, that's what's being reflected in the numbers.
