mangotfluThe "that style of music doesn't do well on streaming" argument is interesting, ive made that argument to defend albums in the past but like Morgan Wallen has made me rethink it all. That style of music wasn't popular at all before them, I don't even think anyone was selling 100k fw streaming with that, s*** even 50k?
Same with Migos&Future in 2015/2016, I'd say they were the ones that made trap music become super mainstream. I think you need artists to break those walls, it doesnt just randomly happen

man Pink Tape is 26 songs & completely flopping. God damn Folklore sold more than that this week. Young Thug's month old album with 2 Drake features didnt even sell 10k this week. Rap has been doing terribly this year

The people who like his music the most, the general public, know little about the sales so when Hotline Bling comes on the radio in 20 years, they're gonna rap along and they won't bring up how it went #2 and was blocked by The Weeknd adding Eminem to the remix of his song; that's something only a select few us know
And yes you're attempting to age Drake because you have an opinion on the type of content he should be putting out
Plenty of artists put out easily digestible music, but it never reaches this scale
Every Post Malone, Lil Baby, DaBaby and Chances has shown you guys that steadily keeping the public's ear isn't easy as Drake makes it seem
