The song charts are usually accurate on AM when it comes to how many streams it’s getting but not the album charts
The "that style of music doesn't do well on streaming" argument is interesting, ive made that argument to defend albums in the past but like Morgan Wallen has made me rethink it all. That style of music wasn't popular at all before them, I don't even think anyone was selling 100k fw streaming with that, s*** even 50k?
Same with Migos&Future in 2015/2016, I'd say they were the ones that made trap music become super mainstream. I think you need artists to break those walls, it doesnt just randomly happen
Because it’s never been about style it’s about content
man Pink Tape is 26 songs & completely flopping. God damn Folklore sold more than that this week. Young Thug's month old album with 2 Drake features didnt even sell 10k this week. Rap has been doing terribly this year
every genre has bad years, I think the 2nd half of this year is gonna pick up
Ice Spice debut album will be huge
Drake dropping
Pusha dropping
Donda 3
Tyler Dropping
Rocky Dropping
Carti dropping
https://hitsdailydouble.com/sales_plus_streaming check this, rap's basically on life support
bro these charts are cap. Taylor swift is selling multiple versions of her albums/singles as merchandise for her fans.
No one is playing any of that music more than rap right now. Just go outside in real life and see for yourself
Imma say it
The whole "Rap is dying" narrative is lowkey racist and BIG "try that in this small town" energy
When yall start rounding Drake age up in your arguments I know what I'm posting with lol
But his legacy is in no way tied to his sales
He did/does the numbers cause people connect to the music, they find it relatable
Yall turned the hip hop quotable into a negative connotation of "instagram caption" rap but wonder why Drake has the most streamed back catalog in the world, because the music sticks and always will
He is almost 40 lol so is kendrick and jcole. Not sure why you are pressed about that.
His music connects with alot of people because it's easy to digest.
As far as legacy goes i think it will be tied to his sales to an extent. You guys literally spend every waking moment dissecting the sales of his music
I am not even trying to have this argument. That was the intent when i brought him up yet here we are lol

Drake stans on here talk about his sales and numbers all day every day, then wanna have the nerve to say his legacy isn’t tied up in sales, cmon man
People gonna be hella upset when drake gets his flowers in the end
Name those people
Name those people
You have to be out yo muthafucking Ktt mind if you think I’m gonna name a bunch of people dawg
Society in general and rap nerds
But I’m not having this convo bc I’m set in my ways and so are you

sales are popularity tho, isnt everyones legacy tied up in their populatity, doesnt make sense otherwise

The people who like his music the most, the general public, know little about the sales so when Hotline Bling comes on the radio in 20 years, they're gonna rap along and they won't bring up how it went #2 and was blocked by The Weeknd adding Eminem to the remix of his song; that's something only a select few us know
And yes you're attempting to age Drake because you have an opinion on the type of content he should be putting out
Plenty of artists put out easily digestible music, but it never reaches this scale
Every Post Malone, Lil Baby, DaBaby and Chances has shown you guys that steadily keeping the public's ear isn't easy as Drake makes it seem
yeah, thanks to having a rabid fanbase, but now she's been dominated by Lil Baby meanwhile you think that means nothing
Lil Baby is no where near Beyoncé’s level wtf
How y’all think this will do
It’s basically just the deluxe to the album she dropped in February, but she’s doing physicals so it might clear 100K first week

Well you clearly said that in here to a certain post so speak on it like a f***ing man lol
I am not set in my ways, i don't have any issues with drake or what he wants to put out. I simply just don't listen if i don't like it
