So excluding Drake... Wayne numbers from 2018 with no youtube still haven't been beat. Thats with over 5 years from last commercial release 🤣🤣
Kendrick don’t give asf about them sales man lmfao
He gonna get MILLIONS off his tour coming up lmao
Now Top Dawg Ent may care but you typed this like he sold 20k
He clung have sold 500k first week if he had a proper single and video from the album
He clung have sold 500k first week if he had a proper single and video from the album
If he cared more im sure he would have
you're probably right, but i think he was also just as big then and he still did arenas so there is hope.
Women haven't seen Drake in person in 4 years. He's stadium status bro lol. He knows how to fill seats and girls loooooooooove Drake concerts
Again, Drake is an anomaly
I’m not comparing Kendrick to Drake in terms of numbers
They don’t even make the same music
Who’s doing that
Kendrick was relatively close in numbers with DAMN so I think people thought he would keep that commercial level going and be drake’s slightly less successful but more artistic peer
But now he’s just another Cole in his own backpack lane

But take away bundles and physicals from DAMN I think it’s the same lmao
I think you misunderstand what monthly listeners is and a lot of people itt do so I'll explain. If I stream Bad Habits once for 10 seconds because it came on a playlist I can't skip they will count me on Ed Sheeran monthly listeners despite me not actually "listening" to him regularly. Monthly listeners is just a metric Spotify uses to show off big numbers compared to the other streaming services and artists can brag too but it fluctuates so much it means nothing
Drake may not have 80 million different people stream a song of his once but he does have the same 50 million people streaming his music multiple times everyday so monthly listeners doesn't always translate to dedicated followers and isn't a good way to judge how big a artist is
I guarantee Drake will end the year with another 10 billion streams on Spotify and none of these 100 million monthly listener artists come close because they peaked in 1 month and he was stable all year
Drake fam always come in clutch
anomaly - something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected.
If anybody should be able to come close to that it's Kendrick, the supposed #2 guy in the game, no?
Kendrick could have did better if he put more effort into the rollout.
Should have dropped a single/vid (not heart problems.5) for the album at least 2 months before the drop.
Artists are getting so lazy about promotion. Put more effort into your rollouts if you want better sales.
have you considered that this was the rollout he wanted
Women haven't seen Drake in person in 4 years. He's stadium status bro lol. He knows how to fill seats and girls loooooooooove Drake concerts
LET ME HAVE HOPE.
i have not been to a proper stadium tour but the one i did go to the acoustics bsucked. i wish touring wasn't such a massive part of their revenue so they wouldn't feel as inclined to do stadiums. intimate show an arena provides is goated for me.
have you considered that this was the rollout he wanted
What he wants is overrated. It’s about me duh man
you're probably right, but i think he was also just as big then and he still did arenas so there is hope.
I think he might have to play stadiums this time around lol. From 2008 when he met Wayne — 2019, the only year Drake didn't tour was 2011. That's why sticking to arenas then made sense.
But now that he hasn't toured in over 3 years and may not tour till next year (making it 4 years), the next tour has to be bigger than anything he's ever done.
Even the guys who did the set design for his last tour said they told him he'd have to play stadiums the next time he tours because the set they gave him for that tour was for a stadium and he keeps wanting to go big but there's only so much an arena can take.
Even with OVO Fest coming back this year for the first time in 3 years, he has to go big. You have other festivals doing stadiums/parks, playing to 50-80,000 people. He can't come back and play to 15-20k people just off the demand alone.
Don’t leave while you’re hot
this isnt about kendrick not being hot anymore, its about the quality of the music
if mm&bs was enjoyable it would have been streamed more and it would have sold more
the truth is that only kendrick fans are listening to this project and now they are trying to convince everyone that you have to listen to the project like 5 times to like it
LET ME HAVE HOPE.

You might wanna try to see him at OVO Fest.

You got a great album
You’re welcome
If anybody should be able to come close to that it's Kendrick, the supposed #2 guy in the game, no?
Dumb comparison
I’m not comparing Drake and Kendrick
I haven’t really listen to that Drake album but I’m sure 90% of the album is something the hoes would play at a party
Kendrick is talking about black trauma, racism, homophobia, etc
It’s not the same, people aren’t replaying United in Grief and Mother I Sober and Aunties Diaries like that
I’m pretty sure a large amount of people is like wtf is this
Y’all like to create these scenarios but leave out tons of detail
Have to ship week of, Taylor did it with Red sold 605k (369k pure)
Oh dam.
Thought they didn't count no more.
So Harry going Plat then?
Tweets like this always make me laugh because it shows how much Kendrick fans love numbers and want to use that as a claim to greatness for him but when Drake's numbers get put up, they switch to critical acclaim because they know Kendrick doesn't come close lol.
https://twitter.com/thoughtfulbae/status/1526967268822884354This is modern day propaganda
Monthly listeners is amount of ppl listening vs Number of streams is just the actual amount of times a song of an artist is streamed. Pop artist tend to have higher monthly listeners than rap artist because they have a wider target audience.
Interesting. So it's a genuine figure but isn't capturing repeat listens at all
What is interesting is you definitely hear labels boasting about it or tracking it closely as one of the numbers they care about most
