Why does the vinyls boost have to be seen as a bad thing? Just because Drake doesn’t do it doesn’t mean it’s nothing for other artists. It’s still another way to show popularity just like drake does through his streaming. All I’m saying random ass comparisons been artists should stop and sales shouldn’t be seen as a nothing

ORN might have not had the impressive streaming it should have but it was a hit among the radio audience which was able to be seen through it’s high callouts. ILY however has been holding pretty well on streaming along with good radio

Where did I say it was a bad thing? Hell, I wish Drake dropped vinyls lol. I have vinyls for everything he's released up to Views. I haven't collected vinyls for any Drake project since then because he doesn't make vinyls for them. I just don't complain about it but it's actually annoying.

Ik you never said that but I been seeing people who always try to s*** on artists by saying “oh he/she is only doing well because of pure sales” here. Sales is just another way to measure popularity just like streaming. People forget sales came before streaming ever existed.

Lol yeah I am just saying a song can be a hit even if it’s been radio carried most of its life. ORN could have had better streaming if it was a better song but at the least it was stable around 7m streams. But there are some songs that have like 0 streams but somehow have like 30 mil audience then there is a problem.

Yeah, the only time I had an issue with pure sales was when the manipulation was at an all-time high back around 2018-2020 with the bundling and stuff and I really only had an issue with it because artists were blatantly abusing that privilege by bundling stuff that had nothing to do with music and passing it off as music sales. When changes got made to rectify that, I stopped complaining about it.

Oh, of course it's a hit. Same with I Like You. I just explained that Post Malone's hits usually also really do well on streaming and that's why they're usually such monster hits. For example, if I Like You was doing better on streaming, it'd be higher in the top 10 right now — that's my point. His singles from his current album era haven't really don't well on streaming and that's why they haven't reached the top 5 or higher.

Yeah exactly. Bundling was an issue that needed to be fixed. Like yeah it allowed artists to do big numbers but it didn’t really show their real demand

Yup. They are def hits but they won’t be able to hold a light to the humongous smashes post had in the past. Sad to see but hope I he has another few smashes in him

Yes, that's why many of them who did massive numbers thanks to bundling got exposed when they dropped follow-up albums and didn't have that cushion anymore. You can see how BTS scoring #1 hit after #1 hit isn't a thing anymore — it's because of those changes.

There's no doubt he can still make catchy records (that's never been in doubt imo). The difference now is that people don't seem to be supporting the music as much as before.

We just have to get used to the new rules and at least this time we are getting “real” numbers. Until artists find another way to inflate numbers, We are gonna be seeing huge album debuts like only 1-3 times per year
