They were so shameless with it too 😭
They were so joyful. Every hip-hop page posted about it almost as a celebration.

Question: in what way could this information have been tweeted to make it more unbiased, objective, and matter-of-fact?
Like it doesn’t get more plain than this
“The official numbers are in. DAMN. has sold almost 100K more copies than More Life”
Oh look at how they’re tweeting it so joyfully and celebrating it
Like what?

The point was as soon as the numbers came in they compared it to Drake's side project
They didn't even let the numbers breathe by themselves

Just weird to compare the studio album sales to a mixtape (playlist) with 5 days of sales.
Im sure they didnt tweet "The Numbers Are In: Views Sold 5x Untitled Unmastered" in 2016, when Views did 1.04M and UU did 180K fw
Studio albums and commercial mixtapes/compilations aren't comparable

You Drake stans want More Life to not count so bad because he labeled it a “playlist”, but the truth is it’s a 22 song project with numerous high profile features from all over the industry, and it received the same amount of promo (or lack thereof) that CLB received in the lead up to its release, but More Life actually had a single from it released before the project.
It counts, it’s not dismissed because it’s a “side project”, and all they did in that tweet was objectively tweet a fact about the sales numbers that had just come in

Drake only has 6 albums, More Life is not one of them.
Regardless of length or whatever else. It's a side project. And it had a shortened sales week since it dropped on a Sunday 12AM.

Artist: here's my side s*** I'm doing on tour less than one year after my album that sells 1m first week and I'm doing it with a bunch of friends
You: IT COUNTS AS A MAIN PROJECT!'l!

And it out streamed DAMN without a full tracking week

Acting like More Life doesn’t count because he labeled it a “playlist” is delusional because:
1. It’s the same length as all of his studio albums since Views
2. It received the same barebones minimum promo that CLB received in the lead up to its released
3. It had a single released from it months before release (three technically, but two of them didn’t make the project)
4. It has more high profile features than almost every single one of his other projects
And yes, it lost a day of tracking, Donda lost three days and Drake stans still compared it to CLB all the same, which they should have.
Florence + the machine projected to do 123k fw now @thegreatdivine

Its better than the main project(s)

Yes, in a technical sense, it wasn’t a studio album. But the fans were hype for it like it was, because it was another full length from Drake, with a release date announced well in advance.
Unlike actual mixtapes IYRTITL/DLDT, which were dropped with little warning and were clearly stopgap projects before his next album that hadn’t been completed yet.
More Life had the hype of an album behind it
And it out streamed DAMN without a full tracking week
Drake is the king of streaming we know this, DAMN. still had a higher first week overall though

It lost 2 days of tracking. It didnt get commercially released until Sunday 12AM. Got about 8 hours more than Donda.
Donda would not have done 300K in 2.5 days. But thats besides the point. Donda is an album.
Mixtapes can have singles. Dark Lane Demo Tapes did too. The YoungBoy/DaBaby mixtape had multiple.
Features/Length dont change it from being a mixtape

Where you getting this from
HDD still says 30k

Ok.
Drake got bigger since 2017 and Kendrick has declined since 2017
Now what?
