“To act like this isn’t an album”
Brother I DIDNT SAY THIS WASNT AN ALBUM LOL
I simply don’t look at Dark Lane Demo Tapes, More Life, Honestly Nvm as with his other albums.
If you do, fine
You said it was a side project, stop being disingenuous and acting like you don’t understand exactly what I meant
Never said anything even remotely related to that.
I just said that I fully expect him to be on a downward slope after the past few albums and you’re acting like I think he’s gonna be homeless in a couple of years.
I think you’re too emotionally involved with his success and that you should know about the dangers of paradoxical relationships before it’s too late.
I think when he does scary hours he’ll be fine
You said it was a side project, stop being disingenuous and acting like you don’t understand exactly what I meant
Oh on the contrary, you’re being the disingenuous one.
You’re viewing CLB in the same vein as Honestly, knowing one was a surprise dance album and the other his rap album. That’s disingenuous as hell lol
I think when he does scary hours he’ll be fine
Last Scary Hours wasn’t great either.
There’s no shame in a downward slope after monumental success btw.
Marvel still doing great and their numbers have had a major drop in the post Phase 3 post COVID landscape.
Oh on the contrary, you’re being the disingenuous one.

Not a side project tho.

? I’m not at all. I said it was a studio album and not a side project. I even said it was a different genre acknowledging the differences. I literally just said it is not a side project as drake said himself this is a studio album. Not a playlist, not a mixtape. Studio album. Did I say it is a 1:1 copy of his other albums? No I didn’t. This wasn’t an experimental album for him at the end of the day, but that’s what it is an ALBUM
Not a side project tho.
Dude said I’m disingenuous using the same terms as the artist who released the music
Not a side project tho.
Aye look,
Okay it’s not a side project. It’s his 7th studio album
So why the 7th studio album sell 204k when the 6th one dropped 8 months prior and did 650k?
What happened? I mean they all studio albums right?
You don’t think Honestly Nevermind was a side project?
Like it had the same rollout as CLB, that came out 8 months before it?
Same thing, huh?
Yep I think we’re done here ✌🏾✌🏾
Drake himself called it a proper studio album on Instagram

You know how sticky it gets man

People didn’t enjoy this album as much as the last album.

Pretty sure dude just meant that its not considered a “core” Drake album
Like for example when Wayne dropped his Carter series they always sold well, while his other projects like Rebirth or IANAHB didnt in comparison.
Wayne sold 100k first week with his “side project” then sold 900k with his main one the following year lol.
That maccaveli nigga is just using HN to predict a decline just because its convenient when in reality he’s talking out his ass.

You’re getting caught up the verbiage too much here
Maybe I should be more clear
Yes it’s a studio album
But so was Thank me later, take care, etc.
There’s an obvious difference to the 7th studio album and the previous 6, no?

Thank Me Later was another album that people weren’t as hot on.
Still sold 447k, a good number for it’s era.

I disagree with mac about the decline, but I don’t consider those side projects unless stated to be so either. That’s like Eminem saying revival was a side project or something cause the numbers were s*** as hell and he came back after a year later

Ohhh I get it now. But the thing with Drake is, he doesn't have a series like that, and the projects that are side projects, he clearly states them. Even then, some of those "side" projects (like the mixtape IYRTITL) are considered essential Drizzy.
Damn so how about that Beyoncé album fellas

Great number for a debut. Don’t think any rap debut has hit that number since.
Some of those songs and raps have aged terribly though.
Starting to wonder how many of my personal failures that I put 100% effort into I can now write off as “side projects”.
Or you know Eminem dropping curtain calls 2 which might do well or might not considering how s*** some of the songs on there are (the non hits)
Damn so how about that Beyoncé album fellas
She should have done higher numbers with the rollout she had.
New chart rules hurting her like everyone else.
