No promo doesn't make sense as a reason for its poor first week sales. It's a f***ing Drake album in 2022, pretty much everyone on the planet who would be interested in listening to a Drake album will have heard he dropped an album. But there still wasn't a spike in the sales after that first week. That means surprise release isn't a reason for it doing poorly, most people just weren't coming back to the album after hearing it

Industry is changing. Beyoncé had a great rollout. Great single. Album didn’t chase the hoes away. High replay ability. Did everything right and these are great numbers IMO
