My point was more to do with pop's continued fall off in the US & Dawn FM underperformed because people just don't want that type of music anywhere near as much as they used to
when Beyonce struggles to have any sort of impact with a pretty catchy song you know s*** has changed heavy. 28th on Daily Spotify US already lol
yea that's pretty much my point, i almost feel bad for labels at this point because there's no proven formula for a hit at this point. it's literally a mess
the only thing clear is that people seem to prefer music from the hood
Feels like the death of music in a way honestly, 5 years from now it wouldn't surprise me if there's no artist dominating anymore. instead we'll just get loads of new artists that are huge for their first 1-3 albums and then fall off into almost nothing
I have basically no faith in Doja Cat/Lil Baby having any sort of staying power at the top, doja isn't close to dominating and lil baby's sound is gonna get stale as hell to people soon
i hope im wrong

Y’all more so need to realize these artists are now veterans from PAST generations and are past their peak lmao.
Beyonce is in her 40s and was huge in the 2000s. Eventually she is going to see less mainstream success.
The industry isn’t changing or over because a 40 year old artist isn’t lighting up the charts how they used to. That always has happened. Every artist peaks.
Weeknd, Drake, Kendrick, Bieber, Ed, Taylor, etc all 2010s superstars that peaked too. They are veterans now.
Artists that were huge in the 90s started seeing less success in 00s, artists that weee huge in 00s started seeing less success in 10s, etc.
Olivia, Doja, Lil Baby, Bad Bunny, Morgan, Dua Lipa, etc smashing with their latest albums. Plenty of artists doing well and plenty of Pop music doing well. It’s just mostly from newer artists since we are in a new decade with a new generation.
Seems like the music industry is going through the same thing that happened to the film industry tbh.
Brent doing those numbers independent is pretty wild
Not really, he was gonna reach there sooner or later if you watched him the past couple years. He earned it.
Surprised people are still Listening to Mr Moral like that.
