I don't know. Drake has been pretty good with streams before this Dance s***. And he also stopped releasing physicals a while ago. So physicals don't really matter here.
All he needs is good singles and some promo.
I doubt Drake is interested in ever doing a long, drawn-out rollout ever again. Every future release will probably be announced a couple of hours before it drops.
drake haters keep exposing themselves as ignorant uneducated uncultured buffoons
sad how they were raised
especially to disrespect people of different backgrounds, opinions, genders
Its expected since they are okay with saying slurs in 2022
Scorpion did. I don't think CLB did.
You right. Damn that's crazy. Bro sold 40k albums on iTunes first week
Scorpion did. I don't think CLB did.
Scorpion didn't drop with physicals either. Same with Views. The last Drake project to drop with physicals was NWTS.

What's your reasoning? Drake usually does one drawn out rollout and then one surprise drop, been that way since IYRTITL

I think it always works better with singles before the album, but his singles haven't been as good as his older ones. Stuff like Toosie Slide or Too Sexy is pretty weak compared to the hits we used to get from him.

Forgot about that one since it dropped a year before CLB. Always hated the whole Baby! thing, but it was good.
I mean dance album is just the current excuse. Just like leak mixtape was for DLDT even though it was rap. Next time Drake will call his rap album a “musical journey” and y’all will say it’s not an album, it’s a musical journey and that’s why it didn’t sell well. If y’all would just own up to something one time without a host of excuses, everyone would happily move on.
What is Untitled Unmastered excuse?

Not really. DLDT/CLB/HN weren't drawn-out releases. They all dropped without any prior singles save for DLDT where he tacked on Toosie Slide. You can even go back further than that: IYRTITL dropped with 0 prior singles. Same for WATTBA. More Life had Fake Love on it but 21 of its 22 tracks were brand new. He's been gearing up to dropping projects like this for years now.

Both Views and Scorpion had physicals though. CLB is just a digital project. At least so far.

CLB had a two year rollout with a teaser project, billboards, haircuts and a huge loosie plus Scary Hours

I think he's more concerned with giving full projects as opposed to singles these days.
IYRT: surprise drop
Views: major rollout
More Life: quick rollout
Scorpion: major rollout
DLDT: surprise
CLB: major rollout

I prefer promoting the project before it drops. Even Beyoncé and Kendrick dropped songs before their albums to build hype lately.

None of those count as a rollout. CLB dropped as a full project with 0 prior singles attached to it and it was announced a year before it dropped but dropped after a week of being confirmed as being on the way. That's like saying everything from after Drake announced Views in 2014 till when it dropped in 2016 counts as a rollout for Views. It makes 0 sense.
IYRT: surprise drop
Views: major rollout
More Life: quick rollout
Scorpion: major rollout
DLDT: surprise
CLB: major rollout
In what universe did CLB have a major rollout? How many singles off CLB were released before it dropped?

Drake doesn't need to do that, neither does he care to do that, apparently.

I just explained how, look at my other comment. He had like 5 massive hits in the time between it was announced and when it dropped, that they weren't on the album is irrelevant because people knew it was CLB season.

Going by your logic, all the features Kendrick did post-GKMC, including the bulk of his pop features, count as a rollout for TPAB. Got it.
