Idk, I feel like the influences have become less apparent as their career has gone on, and it’s really the melding together of genres that makes them stand out.
Like, what genre would Currents fall under? It’s got elements of Psychedelic, Synth Pop, Disco, Funk, and it’s all blended together well.
Currents going down as one of the best albums of the 2010’s. Glad I was there on day one to pick it up

Jun 24, 2022TheoryI feel like Tame Impala gets hate because of their status as the most famous not-famous-band. Made worse by the “yeah I like underground music, ever heard of Tame Impala?” crowd of hipsters who haven’t done enough work to actually be ahead of the curve.
But discounting that aspect, the music is actually great.
I have no strong feelings on them. It's just not for me
