Sales are more important than critic opinion. Its objective measurement of enjoyment. No politics, no dweeb art student giving weird songs 10/10 because of the political issue of the day.

Sales though have to be broken up into streams, radio play etc. to get a more accurate gauge of what’s the people think vs what are labels pushing.

If Drake was around early 00s he’d easily do Eminem numbers. Back then it was far easier to do. Where the advantage is right now is total streaming numbers will have you catching up eventually.
