They really haven’t released mid week projections yet? HDD on the OVO payroll
Last week, the mid-week projections dropped at 5PM ET. 2 weeks ago, it dropped at 5:30PM ET. 3 weeks ago, it dropped at 7:30PM ET.
Drake prefaced everyone for his new dancehall sound by dropping Hotline Bling and One Dance before Views. He could have done the same with this album and the switch in sound wouldn't have been such a shock which would have resulted in less of a flop.
I'm glad he didn't do that.
What I learned is if casual listeners have one opinion, then critics will have the opposite and vice versa lol

I’m liking when artists just surprise us tbh. Nice to see how everyone reacts to something different

juneteenth is a holiday so maybe they pushed stuff back
Debuting under 200k is wild if true
Definitely think the sm discussion played into it as well. That first night all them memes soldifiex wirh a lot of ppl and now it’s gonna be cool to say ya don’t like Drake’s album since it’s the fit in opinion.
Not even saying you can’t genuinely dislike this project but you can’t deny that groupthink mentality definitely gave the project a blow it won’t recover from for a while in public perception
I honestly truly think it comes down to Falling Back being such a left turn to start the album with. No doubt turned a lotta people off immediately ctfu, if Texts go green was the intro tho !
Ur just cherry-picking, if you genuinely believe the overall perception between this and CLB is even remotely the same… idk what to tell ya
He not wrong. CLB had hits on it immediately, 2 Sexy????
Starboy has a lot of great songs on it in hindsight. A Lonely Night is up there with some of his best songs imo

I agree with this too, I knew from the moment I heard those pitchy vocals and eeeeEeee were were gonna be in for a treat one way or another.
Luckily i knew drake had one with this then
But yeah first track impressions are important

Probably didn’t help that the most radio friendly song was at the end, so once everyone found out Jimmy Cooks was the typical drake I’m sure a lot of ppl didn’t even bother going thru the project anymore since it’s racked on the end.
Probably slightly intentional too from the label side lol

that song needs to be like 2 minutes at max
Need the projections without Jimmy Copes
Rap Caviar bait is probably carrying the sales

big mistake was starting with that falsetto then making a music video with said falsetto
Yes it was especially because it dropped after Donda
People slandered In The Bible because of the donald duck voice lmao. S*** had thousands of likes
donald duck voice? only in the bible slander I've heard is from people misunderstanding the 17 line
What I learned is if casual listeners have one opinion, then critics will have the opposite and vice versa lol
Casual listeners like the same s*** over and over. Critics like it when artists experiment, even if it's not necessarily that great or so. They already give points for that

This doesn't make any sense. How is an experimental leftfield single doing so well
The music industry has changed a lot in the past year, most young people are finding and listening to music they hear on TikTok.
Also there has been a continual decline of people that listen to full albums.
