It’s not a flop and neither was Kendrick’s. Not all music is meant for or created for mass commercial consumption. That’s the point that’s been lost on people. There are so many different factors that go into these sales numbers, and quality of work is not one of the primary factors.
We tried to tell people that when Kendrick's numbers came out but they just said we were coping, pretending to not care about sales, etc so here we are
Zero promo. Announced a couple of hours before it dropped. Didn't send it out to critics before it dropped so they could give him perfect reviews. 14 Tracks. Experimental album. Last album still around top 10 most selling albums weekly.
All of this should be lightwork for the biggest artist in the world.
Evermore, also a surprise album, sold 329K at the peak of the pandemic.
No s***, it was a straight up regular Drake project
This one is a total departure from his normal sound. Why do you think Yeezus did so little, whereas TLOP with a proper release would’ve probably hit 500k fw?
Crazy how Kendrick disappeared for 5 years and still outsold Drake in two completely different eras.
Dropped the better pop rap album and the better experimental album and outsold him.
Crazy

Should have sold way more if he was gone for so long by that logic... people should have been fiending for new music. He flopped you could say.
Its funny , drake made so many trash albums lately and finally he dropped a nice album and flopped commercially.

Also better than HN
JIK
264k fw
11 songs (1 song is 40 seconds)
Most experimental album of Ye's career
Exactly, it’s his lowest selling album! Thank you for helping my point.

Where is the lie?
it was promo’d on all streaming services and on the front page of Amazon

It's not necessarily nice its just not as awful as the s*** that came before it

CLB is not trash

Ya this is a comeuppance for the Drake Stans on the site after the last few months, but a lot of them are missing the point unfortunately
“Oh so sales matter now?”
No, but their misguided responses they had for The Weeknd and Kendrick apply to their own now.
Drake rolled out an entire radio program deal for this album and still flopped. Recreated one of the biggest songs from his last album for it too. Crazy

He flopped hard you numbskull, under 300k for a double album is embarrassing and it’s also hilarious how when he flopped it wasn’t about sales, and now once it “favors” your argument it suddenly matters again
Someone that gets it.
If everyone got it last month then you wouldn't see people laughing at drake's numbers now.
Are we supposed to be impressed or something
this happens for every major artist release
Come back in a couple weeks and let us know if people are still listening
i'm neutral in this chill

It will be a commercial success since the album will have longevity. It is not just gonna come and go. Is that not the best way in measuring commercial success.

Yep. People here got s*** for brains, man. They expecting a total left field album, a complete departure of Drake's sound to do 500k+
S*** is crazy.
