@thegreatdivine got a hit thread for sure😭
Donda 100% would have at least cleared 450k fw if he dropped on Friday.
75 tracks
Yep I knew it was going be in this range, some of ya was deluding urself with "easily over 400k"
this thread gonna be juicy again in 3 weeks when Post Malone doesn't even sell half of his last album
He don't got delusional stans like that
To be fair there were a lot of Kendrick stans who were insistent that he would outsell Drake with their respective next albums, usually backed up by shoddy logic like using More Life vs. DAMN. sales and Drake’s downward sales trajectory from Views -> Scorpion. So it’s fair for us to pop back in and throw a little
in here
ANYWAY 350k is extraordinary for 2022 and will he is still the second-highest selling artist in the game. And this album is so f***ing incredibly good; one of my favorites of the last five years for sure.
He used imagery in a music video. Kanye did 3 listening parties and Drake did a meme song
Almost forgot bout that Way 2 Sexy vid lol
How many units do y'all think this would this sell with vinyls?
Isn't Kenny supposed to be a physical sales kinda artist anyway
true but it does seem like Ye/JiK were way more commercially quiet for him
Ye did pretty well for only 7 tracks. Like 5/7 tracks went viral on TikTok and also 5/7 tracks have over 100m streams on Spotify, with Wouldn't Leave following soon. The stans hating on this album but the general population f***ed with it.
JIK on the other side isn't even platinum yet but it's by far his worst album and all the Yandhi hype with the leaks turned off many people at that time
Just wish Ellen degeneres kept her show going so Drizzler could’ve been on it 😞
Can a music video boost sales a lot
Not really. YouTube streams are weighted pretty lightly
Just wish Ellen degeneres kept her show going so Drizzler could’ve been on it 😞
I wish I could unread this
What physical copy rule. A physical copy counts as 1 album sold. Technically it's cheaper to buy an album than have 1500 streams count as an album
It HAD sold over a million copies by the time it dropped and the first week sales counted, but in reality it did like 880K+
One of the biggest myths ever lol
This has got to be the most stupid nigga on this site
Drake be dropping every year and doing insane numbers if he disappeared like kendrick and cole the anticipation would be insane tbh
This not really a fair comparison for Kendrick streaming grew a lot from 2017 to 2018 and pure sales dropped.
bro this project made me appreciate DAMN much more, even the pop songs I constantly hated on this forum are better than most of the s*** on mr morale
Nigga got the numbers tatted on his arm
We all do

Yeah ye actually big on streaming, and most of the tracks still high up there in his most popular tracks on streaming. Album big mid tho
Jik is a gospel record so not comparable
Time to retire Midrick
Retire as a Big Stepper
