any updates? did the projection drop to 150K yet?
soon
There’s nothing more maddening than debating someone who doesn’t know streaming history, doesn’t research streaming trends, and frames their artist’s myopia as virtue. The level of unapologetic conjecture I’ve encountered lately isn’t just frustrating, it’s retrogressive, unprecedented and absolutely terrifying.

I'm calling police to do a wellness check on Zack if that happens
People really just consume and move on from everything nowadays.
I was talking with some people last night about how they consume music and they will listen to an album once, and unless it's an artist they stan they go back to their Spotify curated playlists for daily listening.

You know it’s bad because Devine’s not here first with her usual chart data tweet.

Automated playlists have been one of the worst things for music consumption tbh. Everybody praises it for discovery purposes but it takes the work out of it leading to a "meh" attitude about everything

S*** is so alien to me. Whenever I listen to music I listen to an album front to back (unless I’m in a car, then I’ll play a playlist that I made myself).
That’s like watching a movie for the first time while simultaneously watching TikToks or scrolling through Twitter.

I know but there's something deeper than that. It's not like artists aren't trying for hit. Why didnt the public give songs like Sacrifice and N95 a chance? Cooped Up would be a #1 hit in 2019 but I think people's taste changed after the pandemic. I can't explain it but I think we're going to see "hits" change. I was surprised a song like Wait For U charted as good as it did

Same. I only have a few playlists to remind me of projects that are lowkey and might slip from memory, but otherwise it's albums or if I'm in a social setting I'm just pulling songs from memory.

Because the new generation only likes depressed emo music like Joji or Billie Eilish
Olivia Rodrigo is a exception from this but her lyrics is the same basic s*** what little girls love
Once Billie tried making fun music she also flopped
Didnt Spotify make clb premium free for non premium users. They really pulling strings to make that album do those numbers

Spotify always uses Drake releasing to try and steal as many listeners away from Apple Music as possible
weeknd fans been tortured all 2022 they not even fighting back no more. sad
Kendrick fans gon fight on their behalf.
