if every song sounded like United in Grief s*** woulda sold 95k and ktt would go crazy
I legit think the ideal situation at this point would be a double album, half crazy experimental stuff and half bangers
You’re welcome to stop listening to rap

BRO I SAID THIS ALBUM IS MID THE DAY IT CAME OUT
People kept saying I was hater, but these mfers were delusional, forcing themselves to like this critic bait album
You don’t go from 350k projection to 288k fw without people losing interest
ColeWorld905 has spoken 🙌🏽
Omitting sales when a big time act puts out album for sale and mass consumption is disingenuous.
I also don't think the talk of sales is 'toxic' and I don't see people conflating sales with the art. They are separate entities that are being discussed simultaneously.

I’m not saying to omit. But do numbers negate the music?
N95 is such a banger man, brings back that DNA feeling, I'd love to hear more stuff like that, nobody's doing it like him rn

Yup. 2022 dna fasho
yea but I haven’t seen creative talk. It’s been numbers. It’s like people were waiting for the number to be low to justify s***ting on the album
People been saying they didn't like the album since release theres a 1k page thread in kendrick sxn that has people saying they didn't like it lol
we seeing different tweets my boy.
I mean...I guess? But it's twitter lol twitter is a very very Loud minority.
I said this in the Harlow album thread, in the Drake album thread, everyone on social media hates everything. No one is ever happy. Why would you even use twitter as a gauge for anything?

it’s not that people don’t like it, READ MY OP. it’s that they are using sales to say this Nigga is ass! Saying uzi is better, he flopped, he’s washed. It’s the lack of appreciation for me

Have yet to see a person say lower sales = I'm not listening but yet everybody keep crying about that 🤨

This is true tbf, negative emotions drive engagement way more than positive ones

Of course they don't.
But they do matter.
You think when they talk about Michael Jackson, or The Beatles, that they don't mention the stats? The stats are one of the few concrete things about an art form as subjective as music.
This idea where the stats don't matter for artists on Kendrick's level is just a fallacy.

this stems from twitter so if you haven’t seen it, hop out nigga
That’s crazy cause I was one of the ones begging for him too. But as an artist I respect his privacy and decision making. He’s just tryna do what’s best for Kendrick. He was never appointed to be our MLK
That’s fine but he’s an artist, I’m sure his peers give up that privacy. It comes off a little selfish and pretentious, I say a little because I’m not condemning him for it.
I wasn’t expecting him to be a MLK. However at least more like Nip, he has several gems of knowledge from numerous interviews he’s done. It showed Nip really did care. I’m good with Kendrick looking out for himself and taking care of his family. However there has to better balance of what he’s shown the past few years.
Time will tell if this is better than his three other classics.
yea I wanna say where this album sits versus the rest w some time

If twitter was around in the 90's we'd be arguing about whether Pac or Big had classic albums man.
The internet and message boards are fun for what they are but I'd never take their opinions seriously.
