So what is a hit then?

It debuted high because it was a new drake single, but it didn’t last.

Ask yourself if Drake was to do a legacy show years from now, would anyone blink an eye at Search & Rescue not being included? Hell nah

The thing is, mr icp fan is that yeah, the whole show while centering diss songs, it wasnt solely about Drake himself when it was moreso about ā€œwhat the culture feelingā€

Remember Joe Budden saying it too that ā€œKendrick can always fallback on cultureā€ through the whole beef.

The same reason not like us reaction streamers were monetized (when usually rappers would get those demonetized) is ā€˜culture.’ A lot of those black reactors made real MONEY cause of that.

It’s been something thats been lacking more than anything in hip hop as we see with the ians and yeats and other animorphs of the rap game. Think all this s*** & the shows and the pics of everybody united was to show that THIS is ā€œwhat the culture feeling.ā€ All the different Cali artists from mustard set and kendrick set to show the west coast still has a sound and still has its own identity and its own ā€œcultureā€, something that a specific rapper hasnt had in a while.

You could ask 20 people on the street if they think search and rescue was a hit and they’d all say the same thing

    ā€˜wtf is search and rescue’

literally tho wtf does that song even sound like

    Be very careful.

  • A lot of Drake’s ā€œhitsā€ nowadays are thanks to autoplays and general numbers manipulation. Impossible to tell what is actually real and what isn’t.

All of you in here acting like last night signified Drake's career being buried will be the same ones rushing to listen when he drops his next project (along with everybody else who is team Kendrick in this beef).

Making posts talking about how he's really finished and he really needs to rebrand now or he really needs to make something "deep" so the culture falls back in love with him just shows how little y'all understand about where Drake has been since 2016. Outside of retiring, there's absolutely nothing he can do to stop being the guy everyone hates and wants to see be humbled. This has been a thing since 2016. Every year that passes where he remains the top guy is a year people grow increasingly angry that he simply won't go away. That everything he has dropped since 2016 gets hated on upon release just off the fact that it's a new Drake project, regardless of how good it is, tells you how much people are fatigued by his relentless dominance.

Everyone on social media will talk s*** about him because next to listening to his music more than all the rappers they claim to prefer and they claim are better, it's the most fun thing for them to do.

I personally think he should take the rest of the year off but I've been saying that since before this beef ever popped off. Long story short, he'll be fine and it'll remain business as usual till the day he decides to call it quits. Stop using social media as a size sample of how the larger world feels. That'll never be accurate.

How are you even trying to draw an equivalence between this and everything Kanye has done and said over the years, which is why he's where he is right now?

How can Drake's reputation be tarnished because of this beef? What exactly has Kendrick proven? The nastiest allegations he threw at Drake were not only flat-out denied by Drake but also by every single woman people tried to being up as way to validate those allegations. You're also silly if you think this beef means black people all of a sudden don't f*** with Drake anymore or won't listen to his music or cop tickets for his shows.

The year will end and y'all would have spent yet another year listening to Drake's music more than any other rapper's music. Y'all will end the year having talked about him more than any other rapper. And Drake don't need y'all to take him seriously. His music will keep doing what it does, meanwhile his involvement in other spaces will carry on being unaffected by any of this.

    To drake stans:
