The worst argument on here is:
“If (insert mumble rapper) made this song, y’all would like it”.
..DUH, cuz that’s THEIR style lol They mastered that flow. They sound good when they rap like that, Kanye doesn’t lol He sounds 45 years old and off beat when he tries to do it.
He coulda done like the theraflu type s***. It’s like young and energetic but hard.
This is mentally unsound.
ok how tf did he kick him while his other foot was being held!????
That s*** was crazy
Everything about the track elicits such an incredibly strong reaction from everyone on the fan hater spectrum in a way know truly joke song (ie Lift Yourself) could manage to pull off.
Everything about it was crafted meticulously as a psyop almost for the internet landscape of today. The song starts with a blaring "INCOMING!" which immediately had me intrigued as to the direction this was going in. The blaring and almost childlike flute that enters the track at first feels like it's humoring the audience and creates and oddly jumpy vibe for the track. The hard bass hits and slight autotune on Ye's voice all compliment each other in a colorful mush of noise all while leaving the audience in disbelief, positive or otherwise.
Everything about it tows the line between serious and playful with him presenting it as a middle finger to the doubters going off his previous tweets while also later speaking on trying to get back his masters. The fact he chose to not even finish the lyrics adds even more confusion to the already diluted mix of thoughts.
He continues the track spitting in ways reminiscent of the Kanye 4 years ago who's high energy delivery elevated the track to another level. All while there is an omnipresent "get it, get it, get it" backing the verse bolstering the feeling of overcoming that fueled the verses of this track. The effortlessly blended in Star Wars reference really brings the verse together as a whole.
Out of left field we get an angelic break to the mix and a strangely pitch shifted Ye almost singing over a new beat. And just like that, we are back to the original beat with Ye spitting even more until the track gets cut off.
The first listen was great to say the least. Truly incredible and a sign of what else is to come
ok how tf did he kick him while his other foot was being held!????
