I like JIK a lot but, like ye, it doesn't feel artsy/abstract
Not sure if it needs to be
Not trying to go after you here but I think people have a set idea of what artsy and abstract is and if it doesn’t meet their idea and expectations then that means it just isn’t. But that’s not really the case. I still get what you’re saying but I think the brevity of JIK, combined with the abrupt endings and transitions, plus despite a pretty water tight theme, many, many different sounds that fit within those 27 minutes, makes for a pretty abstract album.
Would you rather get a dollar for every person that listened to Snoop Dogg's entire gospel album or get a dollar for every cuss word in kanye's discography

Pretty sure if I had a dollar for every curse on just JIK I’d still somehow have more money

as someone who was a day one kanye listener
almost 15 when through the wire dropped
this is the greatest project he has done
and closest to the greatest hit he had "jesus walks"
kanye finally found himself.

I like them both a lot and I find them both very artsy and creative..
Ye is like two vibes in each song for the most part it’s sad and happy it’s black and white,
JiK is super minimalistic which I usually feel is better suited for dark music but Kanye proved you could make very light hearted minimalist music it’s very cool

Tell me more please
Did you like the abrupt endings and the fact that if you play JiK from song 11 to song 1 it still works just as well as an album?
Do you like the album art? I do.
Do you like use this gospel chorus? I love the crazy rhyme stretches Kanye fits into it like kingdom/demon
a finished/reworked new angels would be crazy in this album
new angels.... still learning how to fly
"Sometimes I do s*** to prove I don't need nothin' from 'em
Sometimes I make 'em hate me just to prove I can make 'em love me again
I could make you love me again
I'll make y'all love me"
Why Ye ?
