A friend of a friend of mine said all her church friends think this is the greatest rap album ever.
Just got back from my first ever Sunday Service at the forum in LA...
All I need to say is wow. The stage, the atmosphere, the choir and Kanye himself was spectacular. Hearing the full versions of JIK definitely made me feel more appreciative of the album. I grew up in a black church and then I eventually grew up and distanced myself from it. Going to Sunday Service retouched a nerve in my childhood that I forgot I had, I would jump and dance and throw my hands up whenever the choir would through heavy vocals, and I noticed others around me were doing the same thing and there were others who seemed upset and stormed out early. I guess this Kanye era is not really for everyone, I heard people talking "who does he think he is?" "Why did we pay money for this?" like it is called SUNDAY SERVICE for a reason...man is just accustomed to his faith so shouldn't that make you be accustomed to yours?
Also: one of the highlights: North and Saint just run laps between the choir while they're singing and eventually Ye let north sing the "sccopity woop" line from "Lift Yourself" 10/10
Did anyone else, at least for a short moment, think he was gonna do a real verse for Lift Yourself?
Anyone got the stream of Sunday Service up yet? Only got to catch the first 20 minute and it sounded beautiful
I read JIK was getting the TLOP treatment, has the new version been pushed to Spotify? with TLOP Spotify actually hung on to multiple versions of the album for me as I saved them, but it hasn't done that for JIK so I'm wondering

When they opened up with Hands On I knew it was going to be something really special. Watched the livestream last week and was there this week and itβs really hard to articulate just how different it is to actually be there and see it all firsthand. To get completely swept up and surrender yourself to the music and the choir and the atmosphere like you said. Once in a lifetime experience
My son isnt feeling good so we are listening to JIK on repeat and I'm singing each song to him and its calming him down b
My son is so infatuated with the runaway film b he will watch the whole thing in one setting
