Wow I disagree completely. First of all its purpose as an album opener because of how cinematic and it descriptive it is. It's the prologue of an epic tale. Nicki's intro is just vague enough to leave you intrigued on what's about to unfold. Then you get hit with the beautifully crafted chorus for the first time, and its overwhelming sense of premonition for the performance that's about to unfold. The beat is pretty straightforward, Kanye's delivery is simple, the lyrical content is classic Ye, but you have that pivotal first line - "I fantasized 'bout this back in Chicago" and that s*** still sends shivers down my spine 9 years later. On the second verse, there is a very minor chord change that completely restructures Kanye's delivery, adding to the subtle build of the song. The bridge serves the "fantasy" element of the album, with simple yet powerful symbolism. Then the beat rides out into Gorgeous which speaks for itself as the first "movement" of the album.

It is far and away his best opener imo.

yeah, for this one it isn't bad, but it can get really frustrating listening to mumbles on some others... especially when the flow is really good and you can hear the potential in the verse, but know it'll never get finished

I like the album, I just feel that kanye cant finish an album no more, that hectic process could be the reasons for my favorite songs for all I know, but I can't help but feel it he just completely finished an album, sat on it and made adjustments, it would be the greatest s*** ever again
