cool
cool
I forgot to put not in the beginning of the post lol
Salah and Selah basically have the same meaning it’s just different writing. If you ask an arab to pronounce selah he’ll say salah
I didn't listen yesterday to the album and just did again. How could you hate on this? Only real whack thing is the verse on Water. This is a good album.
People are like "Oh the close on Sunday, you're my Chick-fi-la line's whack, doesn't make sense"
Chick-fi-la's are closed on Sunday's cause they're a religious-based company.
I wonder if this would have won Grammy for Best Rap Album if he released it before the deadline because there wasn't much competition

They can’t let a Religious album win this award man they probably would’ve given it to Post Malone if he’s eligible for rap or something
On God is how I imagine Turbograx16 wouldve sounded
Exactly. The whole turbografx concept of using video game samples and the whole updating thing from tlop. It was such a coll concept, I wish he brings it back
man that airpool karaoke is crazy
True. You saw the Closed on Sunday Kimmel performance. S*** is hard.
Last Sunday Service also amazing. Ye's performances are goat atm
can't believe some people dont like this album smh
It’s not like I listen to this album and hate the sounds. The production while not very detailed compared to his other albums not named ye is fine - though the mixing obviously is a weak point. The album is just very bland and lacking in substance for Kanye. The songs are so short and don’t feel fully developed and so when they end it feels anticlimactic.
The lyrics really don’t offer anything in my view. I wanted to hear Kanye talk about his spirituality and how it affects his life or his journey to getting to where he is now in terms of faith. But all we got is surface level praise of God that really could’ve been written by a Sunday school student and you wouldn’t know any better. Not only because of the simple rhyme schemes and the lack of any kind of depth to them but because there’s really not much personality to them. Which is such a rarity for Kanye because his strongest trait as a rapper has always been his charisma. People who say, “Well I don’t listen to Kanye for good lyrics” are lying to themselves. He’s always had interesting things to say in the past and cool lines despite not being the most technically impressive rapper out there.
This album feels so uninspired, roughly put together, and barebones compared to his past work. Would you be happy if this was the only Kanye album we got for the next 2 years? Would there be enough for you to be rewarded on more listens? This album has been out for only a few days and I already feel like there’s nothing more I can pull from it. Yet I’m still picking up things from KSG in the production and themes/lyrics that relate to Kanye’s circumstances to this day - an album that was seemingly in the works for far less time than this one.
