shaleiroseIt’s not about understanding it or not, it’s just that music grows on people with time and repeat listens. It happened with 808s, it happened with Yeezus, it happened with TLOP, and we’re already seeing it happen (albeit on a much more minor scale at the moment) with Jesus is King.
A bunch of people on here and Twitter have been saying that they’ve enjoyed the album a lot more with multiple listens, and it’s only been a weekend.
An “ok album that people do understand” is something like ye. That album has been out for almost a year and a half and you don’t hear anyone praising it or saying it’s grown on them or saying it’s one of their favorites in his discography, unlike what you’re starting to hear people say about Jesus is King.
Honestly man i dont see a ton of people really warming up to this album who arent really hardcore stans. Even so, i think most people can recognize jik has a lot of missed potential

or telling people they are wrong for not liking the album because they aren't on a "higher frequency". It's fascinating the divide this album is creating. Art is subjective either way.
