2wordsI appreciate how this is easily his most focused album since Yeezus. I came to appreciate TLOP being a “something for everyone” streaming era album but TLOP and Ye never felt as cohesive or unique as his first 6 albums to me. It was starting to feel like he stopped fully reinventing himself between albums and like we were stuck in a perpetual state of post-MBDTF/Yeezus arrogance, fame, s***and excess. I’m not sure how these songs will grow on me but I like that he fully dedicated to the concept and even didn’t swear which helped cut out the somewhat cringy punchlines that have been persistent lately. Overall this is really refreshing for me as a long time fan, it’s nice to get something that really feels like a left turn
Agree with this so much, the one cohesive sound is so much nicer .
