I’m gonna say it. Hitler has always been respected as a leader and as people rallier amongst historians. It isn’t a new idea to try and discuss some of the positive aspects of his character. Of course he used his talent to do terrible things but that isn’t the point.

As a Jewish person I see what Kanye is trying to do and it isn’t the first time I’ve seen/heard this so it isn’t as shocking to me. I just feel like he isn’t in the right space mentally to articulate his ideas in a way that they’ll be taken seriously.

Everyone has already painted him as a guy in a manic episode off his meds or as a blatant racist. He’s just digging a deeper hole by saying this kind of stuff now. It would help if he didn’t break out into puppet shows in the middle of his interviews.

the irony of this is that the recent kanye s*** is so outlandish that even BAP, who wrote an entire book on far right politics, was like "alright calm it down this s*** is way too far" and tried to get his followers to back off of antisemitism

Depends on how long he sticks it out tbh, Gibson had to wallow through some years of "The Beaver" after the total career limbo before coming back to a C-tier spotlight now

Probably no more Grammys for sure but IMO Kanye can do the same when he finally flames out (we're close) if a sympathetic ear gives him a chance to say _I was unwell and hurt and being used by powerful interests 🥺 I took a lot of time to think and listen and I'm really sorry. I love music and my children!". That, plus a couple years of silence followed by lowkey production work, would get him to a place where he's in public good graces again. If he doesn't get MeToo'd there will always be an infinite well of empathy for him amongst people

I honestly don't know if he has that turnaround in him, I think it'll be a situation where other artists working with him is a taboo horrible thing to do and his relevance will dwindle like crazy, even if he does do that kind of apology comeback, I'm not sure how many people would forgive him

The whole thing sucks honestly, I don't know anyone who's come back from Holocaust denial, but who knows, it's a weird world
