Even as someone who doesn't pay attention it's obvious from the way he talks and does things I just can't understand what he gains from it? Is it just because that's most of his fans or are most of his fans like that because he panders to them

Lots of reasons but mainly
It's the side supporting capital and against the "eat the rich" sentiment
There's a market for it now and an ecosystem that will support you in whatever you do as long as you stick to the talking points
And most importantly, he probably feels slighted by leftists because they've been the most critical of him and his business endeavoursoh and he lost Grimes to Chelsea Manning

It's a big factor of course but I know a few people with bipolar and NONE of them are saying "I love Hitler"
Thats why I said that mental illness doesn't excuse everything he's doing. He's genuinely believing the stuff he's praising since 2 months and thats even more worrying
