I honestly don't see how Donda isn't universally praised as a return to form for Ye tbh.
Too many great tracks to write it off as bad or even mediocre imho.

obviously Come to Life and NCLB are cut from the same cloth sonically (everyone noticed that day 1) but i lowkey feel like Jesus Lord has the same vibes, just w drums

I get why people would find the sequencing a little rough but just looking at the music its his best in a hot minute

KMSA is another big standout for me aswell.

I just wanted to write down my top 5 on Donda but s***s too hard. I know Off the Grid and 24 top 2 but Hurricane, LINY, CTL, Heaven and Hell, Remote, Pure Souls, God Breathed are all 9/10 songs and i can’t go one over the other

My best guess is people were exhausted by the sheer volume of tracks.
I hate long albums personally, so it was a hard sell even for me. But the music shone through

I think people find listening to all 32 tracks a chore

Yeah and then there is Jail, NCLB, Junya, BWIS, Moon, Jesus Lord. All songs that are also really top tier

I think the Part 2s were meant as optional bonus tracks, which is why they're all at the end in a row, but other than that I think it was meant to be listened all the way through; which is taxing in all fairness. I haven't listened all the way through since release myself
