It gets me mad as a fan sometimes but he really made his Walt Disney/Howard Hughes dream a reality

The fact he does still get motivated to put out some good music is honorable

Sometimes I think the guy is revolutionary and sometimes I think he just a dude with lots of money who’s really lonely and doesn’t know what to do with it.

I remember there was this article about a year ago where hypebeast interview people from his architecture teams and it was so stupid. I couldn’t believe these people are sitting next to Kanye. All of their remarks were super opaque and basic level understanding with a desire to be deep and it was nearly saterical. Idk opened my eyes that either Ye isn’t as smart as we’ve let him be or the people around him are super average and they’ll just suck him off for some cash.

Tbh it’s a little bit of both. Ye is a visionary who has genius moments but because of his past accomplishments we as a culture have put him on a pedestal and made to believe everything ye says or touches is gold. Ye misses as much as he hits but when he hits its big.

Agreed. It’s just weird seeing these videos sometimes of his studio and people talking about these “30 year plans” and architecture and all this jazz and it’s a little ridiculous lol like for example his domes.

The domes he was building was a movement that happened in 60-70’s with communalist counter culture. And I guarantee someone on his team showed him Stewart Brands Whole Earth Catalog and he got hyped and started to do that. And then the hype fizzled out.

And then he uses Star Wars as these reference points and same with blade runner totally missing the point that the s*** is dystopian. And idk so many things that him look ignorant.

Love him though.

Funny thing is most of the time when it comes to a creative team in any medium, whether it’s fashion, movies, music a lot of stupid ideas and things are said during their down time.
Also Ye loves working with a lot of kids who just get out of college so he ain’t always getting the most experienced and seasoned individuals. Wish he would start working more with older ppl who wouldn’t really condone all the antics cause they’re fanboys

Trust me I know lol I have my own design company so I feel that. But just an idea exists doesn’t mean it needs to come through fruition either.

Also agree!! Man needs to be working with Turell. He needs mentors. But idk if his ego will allow that. He just wants to act on everything. Like in the last episode of the doc series he’s genuinely built up the idea to “save the world” and you can tell it mentally impacts him and I couldn’t imagine living with that idea in my head lol. I think if surrounded himself with elders and mentors he would learn a lot.
