I feel like a lot of people that don't really know about Ye have their minds made up that he's wild and crazy or something stupid like that because of the way he (sometimes rightfully) has been portrayed by the news/media, so they don't even bother to look into what's really going on and just think "oh well look at Ye being all crazy again".
