Ye can do the mach hommy model which is charge a lot of money for the physical or in this case the stem player and still put it on streaming so everyone else can hear

That would erase Kanye’s entire point in what he’s doing though. It’s not about “everyone hearing”, it’s about the streaming services not fairly paying artists for their work.

I am a headass this has been addressed lmao

Either way, i wonder what the costs are

he's paying for salaries, the manufacturing process itself, raw goods, the website upkeep.

i wonder if it's more than steaming platforms.

But hes still being paid fairly and making an example while also giving access to everyone, come on he could charge whatever for a physical and people will buy

    Monky business

“the kids” spend hours every day creating distrokid accounts to put carti leaks on DSPs. They will be fine

To be honest I see both sides cause Spotify and Apple are robbing artist so a new way is necessary. It’s why bandcamp and NFTs do matter

Ye fans will eat that s*** up too if ye charged $200 for a vinyl

Also I think some people are wrongly judging the price point of the Stem Player.

For instance, Ye would never charge $200 for a vinyl. He never has and he never will, because that just doesn’t make sense.

But the Stem Player is an actual piece of tech, and it’s one of the first of its kind (at least readily available for mainstream consumers), so the $200 price point really isn’t that crazy.

He’s not just overcharging for the sake of it is the point I’m tryna make

S*** if it does and ends up being widely adopted then sure, I’ll eat my words. But until now that’s no better than the average startup roadmap. The vast majority of consumers don’t have access or interest in the stem player and I’d be shocked if it takes off in its current form. It’s effectively an MP3 player with playable stems and the general public isn’t about to pay $200 for that rather than $10 a month to have a streaming app on their phone they have with them anyway.

i agree with all dat. but the infographic i was talkin bout specifically mentions a 10 dolla subscription service that's independent of the stem player device that still has the 4 stems n playback features like a normal streaming service

    there's potential here fr
