I'll be the first to say Drake doesn't drop high quality music as consistently as he used to and hasn't compiled them together on one album as much or well as he did on Take Care or Nothing Was The Same but he definitely has made individual songs that are as good or even better than some songs in that era.
Abel on the other hand?? Has hardly any songs that rival the songs on his mixtapes. 2021 Drake could definitely tap into 2011-2013 Drake way easier than 2021 The Weeknd can tap into 2010-2011 The Weeknd. So if a Drake X The Weeknd song came out right now and it ain't better or at least as good as Crew Love or The Zone or The Ride I'd bet it's more Abel than Drake that fails to recapture that feeling.
