But LR definitely improves on everything Ye was trying to do on CD as well.

or at least doesn't constitute as much of a left turn as what happened between Graduation - 808s - MBDTF -Yeezus...
Grad-Yeezus is definitely the most contrasting part of Ye's discography for sure.
But I think to the point about TLOP, ye, JIK... i don't think they're necessarily similar sonically as much they're just lesser quality than the body of work before it.
TLOP i still consider to be a great album where as ye and JIK are an extreme drop off in quality production/vocal performance.
