Even if Hell is for “the worst people”, its still f***ing evil. What is a person? A person is their DNA plus their environment. So if you were to guess a color right now, it’d always be the same color. Because everything in your life (DNA / environment) has led you to say that color. Everything in life has led to you slaughtering that family. How could you create the circumstances and then in the same breath punish the person forever for it. It’s just evil.
im not a christian/someone who believes in hell but i dont rly see how this holds
you've made an assumption that humans dont have free will but havent justified it. if I were a christian, I would say there is a diff between people who freely choose to do terrible things and people who are forced into bad situations bc of their environment

I would say you have just as much of a duty to explain how the concept of free will makes any logical sense.
What else could we possibly be besides our genetic code interacting with the world around us? You’re making a distinction between people who choose to do bad things and people who do bad things because of their environment. But that is not the full picture of a person. The full picture, is environment and genetics working in tandem to create the core of YOU. To say that we have free will, it seems to me that you’re affirming that a God exists, cause I have no idea what free will could be if it is not genetics or your experiences.

So, in your opinion, a person has no free will and is just manipulated by the enviroment and his brain chemicals into good or bad deeds?

We have no free will in the sense that you could roll back time, and every decision we make is one that we would always make. You would always say the same color, or guess the same number, cause everything has led to you making that decision. I don’t think you guessing that color is like a dice roll, where if we rolled back time five different times we’d get five different answers. I think all five times we’d get the same answer. Cause why wouldn’t we? Cause your whole life in totality has led to you saying that color. We can still make decisions. People should still go to jail. But we should have EMPATHY for everyone because of this.
thought my crush was into hot guys, but she just posted that her celeb crush is Michael Cera, we have hope boys
He’s done miracles on me
Are you a celebrity, too?

It might be true. A lot criminals have mental health issues. Then is the question can they make the right decision when sick in the head?

you have to prove that genetics + environment determine the minutiae of our everyday decisions rather than just creating tendencies/predispositions towards certain things
the arguments for that are out there, but I disagree w them too

Yeah, I acknowledge that this isn’t so clear cut. I guess I just don’t understand what else would determine the minutia of everyday decisions. Maybe free will is just a random generator. Maybe it’s just hard for me to wrap my head around. Free will or no, we still have to go about our lives the same way, but saying there is no free will leads to a more empathetic way of looking at the world IMO.
Anyways, I’ve sapped the fun out of this thread.
My bad.
JUNYA WATANABE ON MY REEE.
Honest question:
If you believe in the concept of Hell, why would you support God?
What?

I don't agree with you, as there are examples when people say that they were manipulated by their surroundings, but it's probably bullshit. Like some fascist generals said that Hitler made them kill so many people, some of them were pretty educated, I'm not sure that Hitler was forcing them to do inhumane experiments on other people etc. Some of them of course maybe were afraid of death, but I'm pretty sure the most of them didn't give a f*** about human life or other people, so it was their choice.

Just gotta do what we can to leave our ego out of the equation.
The ego is the enemy of growth and learning.
A backhanded apology is like me saying
@Terry im sorry your a lying c***
Why are you always insulting and raging on me out of nowhere
What did I do to you?
