From the dozen or so songs Ye previewed for his Atlanta audience, “Donda” is genre-defying: Some have described it, not inaccurately, as “trap gospel.” How else would you describe a project that includes many Christian references and the familiar words of the Lord’s Prayer and also features from Pusha T, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Baby Keem, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Roddy Ricch and Pop Smoke?
By the time Kanye reached the other big surprise of the night — a verse from his longtime friend and mentor Jay-Z, with whom he’s sparred in recent months, on the closing song, which might be called “Jail” (head here for a full report on the song) — the crowd worked into a full frenzy, shouting, “Ye! Ye! Ye!,” as he finally left the shape-shifting spotlight at the center of the floor to dance around the edges of the arena, closer to the people.
if you havent blocked hot pancakes I encourage you to do yourself the favor
fellas mad because i was right and now gotta block me to cope LMAO
I knew the album wouldn’t come out anytime soon when I heard Kanye rappin bout Giannis and the bucks
Drake scrambling to come out with a rhyme
But Kanye did it first
Drake stans don't come at me plz it was a joke
But yes, someone texted someone in Kanye's camp and Kanye is F***ING FURIOUS right now.
I dont have writeers
I might bounce ideas
I thought it was
I don't need writers
I might bounce ideas
Kanye said he went off the top until MBDTF
While going off the dome and bouncing lines from his peers
So technically nothing was ever written until MBDTF
According to Kanye
Im gonna come clean idk if I believe that
but yeah he def was doing most of the writing on all the early albums u can hear his personality in it
But yes, someone texted someone in Kanye's camp and Kanye is F***ING FURIOUS right now.
About what
Rhymefest wrote the first verse of Jesus Walks
Only the first couple of linea of first verse the reference is out there
Nah I love TLOP as well but I do think it has flaws. 4:44 to me is a flawless album and extremely timely. It just doesn’t take as much risks and is just a really good rap album.
I get you
Some say that TLOP is bloated (which I don’t agree)
I’m gonna get killed for this but I don’t really like Saint Pablo, that’s just my opinion. He could’ve scrapped that s*** along with “Facts” and like one more song
My only gripe is that he didn’t rap more. And when he attempted on some songs we got “bleached a******” smh
But all in all it was the last great album from Ye as a solo artist, in which I still enjoy to this day.
KSG was great also, I wish it was 10 tracks instead of 7.
All I noticed was that ‘slave name’ ‘last name’ was no where to be found
imagine that song is on the real s*** omggg
Oh it’ll come, I let a few out that got buried in the thread last night
It’s just so obvious there are too many fake fans in here
And not liking the album does not mean you’re a fake fan but it’s the way y’all are talking about this s***
Many people have never learned the proper way to love, so they stan Kanye the same way. In a love-and-hate kinda way
Vice wrote a really good article on last night
