And what’s makes it more painful is that he won’t give it up because he loves it. He lives and breathe music, but he just can’t find out how to do it anymore. Like he legit can’t give it up. He loves to create, he loves the attention from his creations, he loves the admiration, the praise etc...

I feel like he has to just take some time away and get inspired again. Whatever triggers that inspiration is up to him. As you said, this is some great music he’s sitting on, but he just can’t for some reason fully flesh it out.
