Y’all need to replay what Kanye says in his latest letterman interview. He basically says his new music is gonna use drums less, cos those big juicy 808 drums we all love hit the “lowest part” of us and correspond to our carnal desires.
So you guys can’t expect Christian Ye to make those types of bangers anymore. This man has the courage to really try a new sound, which is more airy and vocal.

Yeezus was kind of a warning
Tbh I consider yeezus the last of his very very strong albums
If Kanye doesn't work on this for at least another month, it's an L. Assuming this is what we're getting. If he actually takes the time and just puts in some effort, it could be one of his best projects to date.
The energy on this feels right, and a lot of the concepts are promising. It's pretty clear that it isn't even close to finished, though. Drums are straight up missing from several tracks, Kanye is barely rapping, some of the singing is truly terrible, and it just feels like it has ... no teeth? Like, it doesn't need to be Yeezus, but every track just ... ends without a climax. There's this build-up of tension, and then it fades. S*** obviously isn't finished.
I'm convinced that Kanye is so spoiled by labels at this point that even a listening party means nothing to him. Apparently the Vegas party had totally different songs than this, which leads me to believe that he still has no idea what the final cut is going to look like.
SO: we have an album that is named for his mom, but she's barely discussed on it. We have a rap album with almost no bars. We have a trap album that refuses to go crazy despite seeming as though it desperately wants to.
There's the skeleton for something great here, but it needs substance, and that's going to take more than a day or two.

It is
And TLOP and KSG have some great tracks too
this could literally be it but no "it needs more drums"
So your saying he’s gonna start a wave of no drums
How?
Nothing scientific, I just feel like the seeds of this completely sloppy and unfiltered approach were first seen with TLOP, quite a few songs on it that were just meh compared to his previous albums

Yeezus was amazing.
So was life of pablo, but it was a bit too long imo and not cohesive enough
I like kanye singing
I don't like the rap songs
Then I have good news for you

True
he's the highlight of this album tho
maybe im in the minority then, but i really dont see the appeal with Carti at all
the guy mumbles/screeches his verses to the point where you cant even make out what hes saying, and his lyrics are nonsense aswell
Now thats not great, but you can somewhat get away with it these days if it atleast sounds good (melody wise), but i dont even think Carti does that
I’m the next Ye. I truly believe that. I’ve been working on my vision.
It’s called The Waviness of Wakin Up.
He definitely needs to push this album back like a lot, there’s potential here and there but none of it sounded finished.
Then again a song that’s been worked on since 2018 (hurricane) somehow sounds worse now so…
