People hated 808s when it dropped and it changed music.
Like maybe some mixes need some work they all do, but people always have ideas about things after the fact.
Like Kanye is a polarizing artist, he experiments, you can't even say what's underwhelming or not. Like here we all talking about it.
Good art provokes, and I can't even say if it's bad.
Because it is interesting, it has a cohesive theme and central idea, it blends a lot of genre's and does fit into a single musical mold but it's all there. I don't know like I don't love everything but I can't act like he completely missed or I don't see the vision
nope, i am ONE HUNDRED percent fine with experimentation. is he really breaking the mold by mumbling and freestyling everything? nah, he's just being lazy. there is nothing lazy about true experimental music - it's typically much harder to successfully land.
i totally see the vision for this project, but like i said, he didn't land it. it is simply incomplete. sure, if he spent another 6 months working on these exact songs, it could be great - but that's not gonna happen
